Whistling

Hi Gang,

This has been mentioned before, but I thought I would add my voice to supporting this. and that is. >>>>

I and others would sure appreciate it if on your Avatar you would at least place the area of the country you are from. Such as, State, Province, and possibly City, or Country if you are from over seas.   But we would understand if you do not wish to The name of the City.

However, it would make understanding certain statements more clear if we knew where you were from (Area Wise) and also when you start telling us some of your weather info. it certainly would be more interesting.

These are just the ramblings of an Ol' Phart.  but they would be helpful and not getting into personal info either.

An earlier version of the forum allowed this, this version does not seem to have a place to put that information, however it does support that information once iti is in the database.

You could put it in you gsignature.

Yes, that would be nice, but many people live in one part of the country and model another. Brother LION is a good example. He models the New York City Subway system, but he certainly doesn't live there. I too am a good example, as I am presently modeling northwestern Ohio in the 1970's. Why? Because that's what we like to do best!

Johnboy, besides that you have special info on exactly where I live, as Do I you, my name tag DOES say I am in Upstate NY. Many of them when I look at locale DO state where the storyteller is from.

Knowing approximately where one  resides has nothing to do with what one models, that was not Johboy's comment I don't believe. Knowing that someone is in socal at a temp of a nice 78F is different than my balmy 32f heat wave we are having here in Upstate NY. I can only be envious of those in warmer climes now! Tomorrow will be 40f a far cry from the 10f {below with windchill} we had last week!

Why would something like putting the name of the state you live be a problem? As you can see in my sig line I am from Michigan. West Michigan in fact.

See my information underneath my avatar.  It's there, or at least it was there before.  Point is, I model two roads- Wheeling & Lake Erie in SW Pennsylvania, and my fantasy road "see avatar" in a freelanced Southwestern PA.

(My Model Railroad, My Rules)

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway.  As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

OH, Tsk Tsk Big Daddy, YOU forgot: you have to have 3 antenna and a lead crystal  on your foil hat, shiny side out for it to really WORK.Stick out tongue

MY blood sugar was 314, A1C is 6.8 and my PSA was last 3.2, my BP was 135 over 90 today, my pulse ox was 92, and my heart rate was 85. I am still fighting pneumonia and my doctor is trying to keep me out of Lourdes Hilton Regency Hyatt Hotel were the room service is free{the hospital} again. At least according to my Doctor today!Wink ANYthing else someone wants to know??? Black Eye

as far as locale:there is a broad territory Upstate NY covers {for those who know there actually IS a whole state apart from NYC}, but I are there. It really doesn't give away my exact location, but in the diner people who know me there, have a more exact link on my locale.

I have had my credit card compromised by using it online, my debit card was compromised and my checking account drained by using it at a local chain store, but I dont think anyone here will do anything that hasnt already been done to me if they know I live at 235 Main Street, Spring Hill Estates,  Bingo Town, NY....

I loosely model B& O and all incarnates {C&O, CHessie {favorite} and CSX} for variety so I don't get bored with my train board.

I think that Johnboy out has asked a nice simple question, and snide remarks werent what he had in mind.

Oh, and if you read my signature, I think the Aliens did it, Agent Dr. Scully. I really do, the "experts" have convinced me.

It took me forever to find the link to add my signature. Now I forgot where it was. I never could find the link to add my location. I think there might be a problem with the server or my browser, IE Explorer.

It is kind of nice knowing the region where people live. Also knowing what they model is nice. You can sometimes tell where they model by their pictures.

Heck, when i was on this forum ten years ago, I even managed to put the line drawing of an O scale Thomas Consolidation on mine, but I can't get this new system to take my herald, let alone anything else.  I believe I've mentioned in the past that I live on the Shores of Gitcheegumee, the Big Pond, where we have 9 months winter and 3 months poor sledding.  I'd like to add more, but this new system is too complex for my elderly brain and old Windows 7.

Hello All,

If you are truly curious about my location you can glean it from the name of the railroad (Avatar) and the elevation, just Google 10,578.

I'm not necessarily opposed to posting my personal information but I believe that if you truly want to know it will take a bit of searching Wink.

In some of my posts I have mentioned my location when it is relevant to the post, otherwise you'll have to do a little research.

Hope this helps.
