Service to Cincinnati via Toledo would be very popular. This is a heavily traveled corridor.

Taking that road is taking your life in your hands! [:D] Just kidding. It is a busy road, though. In the nineteenth century the Miami and Erie Canal provided transportation for that part of Ohio. Later, the RRs came. It would be wonderful to have the RRs back--but I don't see it happening.

I believe there is some project proposed for rail service between Cincinnati, columbus and Cleveland. It would be a good line to have but probley like somany other proposed services wont ever happen most likely.

There was a large meeting here in Toledo a few weeks ago with some bigwigs from the STB, TMACOG and some other overpaid government agencies. The topic was brought up for a high speed rail line from Tol- Cin, Cle-Col, and Col- Cin They talked it up real big and are "supposedly" in the process of securing fedral funding for this project. I cant help but wonder if I will be seeing amtrak fly past my house.

Jhoff, it would be cool if they could pull this off. However, I seriously doubt the folks in Columbus would allow Toledo to get service before them. The Cincy, Columbus, Cleveland line sounds more likely to me. But who knows?
