Cthulhu ftaghn on the railroad?  The Miskatonic Railroad is set in H.P. Lovecraft's Massachusetts, and appears to be quite faithful to its "prototype", including the eerie station, which is based on the actual Salem station.  This one is worth a look (and maybe a feature article in MR?).
