I have an older BLI NW2 that won't turn on. When the power to the Layout (DCC) is turned on the headlight will light very breifly but it won't fire up. I reset the engine back to default in both PG and PO mode but nothing. The engine will work in straight DC. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.
Did you try hitting F6 twice? That starts the start up sequence. If that doesn't work, you may have a defective decoder. Good Luck.

On my BLI NW2 the start sequence is initiated by pressing F9. It's the same with all Paragon2 locomotives, diesel or steam.
By the way, do you use the good address?
Did you try it after disabling the DC Mode, using CV29
If nothing works, email or call BLI Customer Service.
I have two BLI locomotives on which I had some minor problems. When I emailed BLI Customer Service I got an excellent service every time. In one case they sent me a replacement decoder free of charge.
