Incomplete Copy of Classic Trains Magazine "Trains of the 1940s"
Posted by Daywhitemtns on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 6:55 AM

As I model the transition period, I recently ordered and received Classic Trains Special Edition No.15 "Trains of the 1940s."  Although apparently intact and in good shape externally, the magazine is missing pages 87 through 110 which according to the table of contents covers two articles and part of a third.

I thought I'd mention this as I don't know if I happened to receive a defective copy or if the problem is more general and others have experienced a similar problem. I have notified Kalmbach and am awaiting their response. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks to Kalmbach's Customer Service speedy reply, I'm able to keep you posted with an equally speedy update. Here is Kalmbach's response:

Thank you for your inquiry. We are sorry to learn that Trains of the 1940s arrived with pages missing. A complimentary replacement will mail shortly. There is no need to return the damaged issue you received. Please allow approximately 10 days for delivery.

Sincerely,

Emily                                                                                                  Customer Sales & Service                                                                    Kalmbach Publishing Company

I want to thank Kalmbach for their prompt response and excellent customer relations and affirm how glad I am to be a long-term subscriber to MR, Trains and Classic Trains magazines.

They've always been good the rare times I've had an issue come damaged. Say what you will about Kalmbach and the content of their publications, but they certainly do have top notch friendly customer support.
