Thanksgiving was in October in Canada; the reason - many parts of Canada are covered in snow, so the thankgiving time is earlier in our northern climate.

But have a good Thanksgiving to our American brethern.

Well, I voted ham, but I'm actually serving both. Actually, we're baking a Virginia ham, roasting a 14-pound turkey, and deep-frying a 12-pound turkey (I've got 23 people coming over!)

I'm glad I've got Friday off; I'm gonna need the rest!

Ray,

What time do you want me to stop by? lol. We'll be having Ham this year for Thanksgiving. Have the finance's family coming by for dinner and I don't think I want to risk a Turkey (ever see the movie Christmas Vacation! lol). Don't despair though, last weekend at our Reserve Drill, one of our First Class Petty Officers did up deep fried Turkeys. The other members of the unit brought the fixins. It was a feast - even though we had it in our drill hall. None of us, however, forgot that it was much better than what some of our breatheren deployed throughout the world are having.

Let's be Thankful for being able to live in a country where we have things to be thankful for, for being able to partake in the greatest hobby in the world, to be able to share ideas, and yes, debate, even fight, about our opinions. And let us be thankful to everyone who has a hand in making Thanksgiving happen - be it military, police, firefighters, EMS, teachers, parents, etc.

Turkey I guess, but a good prime rib of beef is always a nice option. Pizza is great the following day, especially if you don't have the leftovers in your refrigerator, as will be the case this year for us, since we aren't hosting.[swg]

We are having turkey but not unitil Sunday. That's when most of the family will be here. On Thursday, we will be fixing some steaks on the grill for just a few of us. So I voted for other since technically, we are not having turkey on Thanksgiving.

I voted other. After all the money I spent this year on my layout we can only afford bread and water until the 10th of Jan 2005 [:)]

There is no such thing as a bad day of railfanning. So many trains, so little time.

Haven't decided yet. Family's going out to dinner this Thanksgiving up in my home town (Nevada City). Eating at a place called Trolley Junction, which is also the home of the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Museum. According to my sister, the menu is offering turkey, sea bass, prime rib, pork loin and some kind of weird vegetarian dish. Haven't made up my mind yet, so hold the flaming pumpkin. Since I'm just recuperating from a two-month siege of Pylori infection (Peptic Ulcer to you uninitiated), I may end up just eating sliced peaches, if I can find any.

I voted for ham, although we're actually having both. The turkey is ready to go in the oven this afternoon, and we'll take it over to Louise's cousins' for tonight. The ham we'll cook in the morning for tomorrow's meal. I like both, and we usually cook both, but my favorite is ham.
Hoping everybody has a wonderful Thanksgivivng,

Turkey with all the fixin's...Yum! [dinner]

Then in the evening my wife's family is meeting "over the river (literally) and through the woods (well somewhat, mostly through harvested corn and soybean fields) to brother-in-law's house, we go" (Grandma died years ago), where everyone will bring various homemade deserts to share...Yum, YUM!! probably turkey at my aunts house. if i was going to my grandparents i'd probably only have mashed potatoes and corn or something. but since i'm staying home alone i'm going to my aunts and having some turkey, for supper tomorrow night i'll probably have a pizza or something.

i'm not a fan of meat, i'm more for potatoes and corn.

Send the pumpkin. Looks like chicken soup and hot tea with honey. Heck of a day to wake up with a cold.
Happy Birdday to all.
