Hi all!
I just finished the build of the Sierra west Hotel in HO.
I made very few changes away from the manual.
The peeling paint that is described in it was a bit too uncontrolled (sort of...).
So I made the peeling paint by brushing on turpentine and then brush on Vallejo white paint.
I really like the way it turned out.

I like to build this kind of kits, they bring out the best of my modeling
To build it like an old and worn structure that will fit my layouts history. My HOn3 layout is freelanced on the D&RGW in Colorado in the late 30's, in this case I imagine that this building was erected in the late 19:th century and then slowly being worn to the state it is in now.
Nicely done Graffen! As usual your work is inspiring.
The worn paint effect is great.
If I dare make a suggestion, the awnings perhaps look a little too fresh. A bit of fading and perhaps a tear or two would better match them with the finish on the building. I'm not trying to find fault at all. Just an observation.
