After that Seattle receiver made the circus catch, I was like, OMG, here we go again! Lynch picked up 4.5 yards on the next play, so you had to figure they'd score the winning TD on a rush. Then they passed it, the rookie intercepted, and everyone in America was stunned. Bigmouth Sherman was shocked -- he was asking his teammates why they passed. EVERYONE wants to know why Carroll called that play. In the post game interviews, he said his reasoning was, they had 3 shots at a TD, so they tried a pass. Really? Nobody could stop Marshawn Lynch, you're a little over a foot from sealing the deal, so you PASS? Again, I'm glad Seattle self-destructed like that, but calling that play was just dumb.
Anyway, off to bed. See.you guys later.
There was that moment of sheer exhiliration when Butler intercepted the ball, and suddenly victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat. All of us at the party did our best to emulate those scenes you see on TV when thrilled game-watchers see the home team do that. The trouble is, we are all in our late sixties, and we are friends from MIT, so we're engineers. Think of Dilbert and Wally trying to high five, and you see the awkwardness. But, we had fun anyway as our team brought home the trophy.
Or, they brought the trophy to the airport. I think they'll shut down Boston, so the Patriots are stuck. Somehow, I think they'll get better accomodations than the gate at the airport.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Well this really tears me up, but here goes >>>
Congratulations to all the Patriot fans out there. I did not expect that finish in any way shape or form. I am heart broken,,,, however this is next year country, and Our Seahawks will be there again.
Don't have much else to say so I think I'll head to bed and try to put it out of my mind.
Catch ya all tomorrow sometime.

angelob6660 That was a wonderful opening Galaxy. We had plans to go to my grandma's house for the Super Bowl (party). My father and I can't go because of transportation. My mom and brother works tonight taking the only two cars. And her house and the other family members live on the other side of town (40 minute drive).

Aw, Shucks, I just copied/adapted what Ulrich wrote last month! I couldn't have said it better.
I thought about copying my "accidental eulogy" to Jeffrey, but it was lenghty...I kept the opening short and modest, just like Jeffrey was!

Chloe, a large mug of hot chocolate would suit me fine right at the moment..... I'll be sitting in the back enjoying the warmth from the wood stove.
Looking out the window in my office/dining room area, I see that Linus has officially arrived! At the moment only light fine sn*w, but they say it should pick up speed fairly quickly. My son called to ask me if I wanted to come over for a small Stuper Bowl Party. I declined as by the time half time gets there the roads should already be difficult. I am also waiting here in case my sister gets in touch with me on changes in her flights... If I am not here twiddling my thumbs if she calls, my name will be mud. Well I assume it will be my fault the weather did not co-operate anyway, but why make it worse. I'd watch the game here at home just to see how idiotic this years stupid bowl ads are, but I don't have TV anymore. One of the smarter decisions I have made in the last decade or so. Havent missed it at all. I take the Bills aren't in it this year... (Runs to the back of the diner as things get thrown his way!) I already know who is going to win! The team that scores the most points.....
I have to get some wash done tonight, so that is a good excuse to play in the train rooms some...
Later!

G'd Afternoon Gang,
At work today and then a couple off.
Looking forward to a great Game this evening and I am not indulging our Patriots Fans here at all.... It is "Go Seahawks Go" I can not endure the shenanigins that go on with the Pats, they are always being found skepitcal of doing something wrong. If they weren't then they wouldn't be found that way. To bad they bring a bad flavor the the League. Russel and the Boys should put them in their place tonight and I hope can keep Brady from getting #4 ring.
Cold here today, about -25c, but at least there is no wind.
Hope to get the second coat of Envirotex on the river tonight. If I can get it done after work and before the game that would be great.
ROB, When I get the river finished I will make a concerted effort to get some pix taken and posted here. Just never took the time before.
Hope the storm doesn't amount to much for you Northeasters. It is nasty down there when it happens.. I been caught in a couple of them there and with the higher humidity they are definately worse storms that we get. Our real danger is in the Colder Temps and wind chill. Lots of time below -40c or -40f at that temp it is the same.
Hard to fathom that we are in Feruary already, boy, that last month sure flew by.
All for now, best get back to work here. May check in later after the game just to rub it in a little, ( I HOPE )
Keep Smiling ya all.
Johnboy out......................for now, must get my Seahawks jersey out, and watch for our local boy there "John Ryan"...... doncha know
Snow is now falling. Glad I'm off tomorrow between the snow and wings and super bowl, lol
I haven't done much railroading in the past couple months but might runsome trains tomorrow if I can ( might have to shovel a few driveways first )
The new strat o matic baseball cards ship next week so I know what I will be doing when they arrive
Hopefully, the Patriots can shut up that strutting, trash-talking *******, Richard Sherman, and his **** coach, Pete Carroll. I have no animus against the city of Seattle, but between those two and their jerk owner, Paul Allen's desire to days permanent hearing loss to anyone who's present at a home Seahawks game, I can't root for them.
I'm walking around a bit more, but I'm still sore. That'll take awhile to get used to. We live in. split level, which is an adventure, but again, hopefully things will improve. The big downside (at least for my wife) is that I won't be able to shovel the 5-8 inches of "white guano" we're.supposed to get this evening and overnight, plus whatever falls tomorrow. Our winter storm warning runs 4 PM today through 4 PM tomorrow. Yay. Too bad our jobs are here, because I'd love to move South. Oh well, next lifetime!
Go Pats!

Seattle Intense Dark Roast coffee in a BURLINGTON NORTHERN mug, please.
***Ray, that was a funny story. I was born in NJ., but we left for AZ. when I was only a couple weeks old. Would you believe I do not recall a thing about my birth place!
My Seahawks (lived in WA state) are playing in AZ (where I was raised). Hope it's a good omen.
Have a terrific day all.
Cheers! Rob
Morning guys
we have a decent storm that is going to set in tonight and tomorrow morning. I'm off work tomorrow but looks like it will be spent shovelling. We are going to my parents tonight for dinner ( only a couple streets over ) so hopefully will be back home before the really heavy stuff comes
Yes, the hearty handshake. The pat on the back and the warm glow of victory!
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
Good morning! Thanks, Galaxy, for opening up the new diner.
Yes, it's Super Bowl Sunday, and my New England Patriots are in it. I've got a party to go to, with a bunch of old college friends. (All my college friends are old by now.) The snow should hold off until the game is over, but after that I will be hunkered down for the duration.
I'm well stocked with food. Yesterday I picked up some kielbasa, cheese and Ritz Crackers to bring to the party - football food. I plan to pick up a modest supply of beer today. I'll be printing a picture of Vladimir Putin to put on the box of Ritz Crackers, because the Super Bowl is the highlight of the social season for football fans, and I feel like Putin on the Ritz.
Mornin'.......
Zoe, I made it in here before the winter storm Linus (and Lucy?) hits the finger lakes. I'll have a the #2 Special this morning. Over easy on the eggs, sausage links, home fries, and a double order of the sour dough toast. A 20 cup urn of Dark Roast Coffee will be needed as well. I'll be in the back by the wood stove trying to get warm.
Well! (Deep subject!) We have some little white things falling out of the sky here in the Finger Lakes region at the moment. Not sure what they are as the weather service says we have a 0% chance of sn*w until 4PM this afternoon when all (expletive) may be breaking loose. Checked the Rochester, NY Airport page and my sister's flight has been cancelled. This could be an interesting couple of days. My SIL and I have backup people (My other SIL in Canandaigua and my nephew) to take care of Claude if none of us can get there. They both live within a few blocks of my sister's house so could walk over if neccesary. Will have to wait to hear from my sister on what, where, when, and how to get her home. I bet she will be in a foul mood!!! I ain't driving to Newark, NJ to pick her up! We are under a Winter Storm Warning here, Rochester is still just under a Winter Storm Watch... Difference is just a couple inches of sn*w. South of the Thruway (where we live) is supposed to get 3 or 4 inches more of the white STUFF.
Have to get moving as I need to get to the store before the storm hits. Mostly, I have to get more distilled water (for my CPAP and the boys only get it to drink) and a couple other items as long as I am going out.
Good morning Diners,
Flo, I'll have hash browns, scrambled eggs, and my usual giant coffee with boo coo cream, please.
it is snowing to beat the band here today and is not supposed to stop until after midnight. That will hamper all of the Super Bowl parties in the area, but fortunately the local team isn't in it.
Ah yes, the super bowl. With all the tragedy going on in the world, I suppose a little diversion is good, but this is to the point that some folks think it should be a national holiday!
Downloaded SCARM the other day Largely because of price....it's free. Looks fairly easy to navigate. Anyone have opinions on this?
Hope everyone is ok and that you're all warm and dry.
WOW! What an impressive operning! Well done Galaxy! Hello Railfans. Flo - my usual please. And I would beef up the hot chocolate supply, its a pinch on the cold side tonight.
Galaxy - again, that opening was tip top. Very befitting!
RR Front - Been working on my coupler project. Finally got a set of Kadees on a car that has needed them for 40 years. And they work by wand.
In General - nothin but the cold going on here.
See you folks later. I feel a slab of german chocolate cake coming on!
