BLI Blueline F7B Dummy - How to Remove the Shell
Posted by richhotrain on Saturday, January 24, 2015 5:13 AM

I want to remove the shell so that I can free the truck from the chassis.

For a dummy unit, this thing has more screws than a hardware store.

I started by removing the couplers, then the four screws around the four corners of the chassis.  Nothing.

So, then, I removed the four screws holding the fuel tank in place.  Still nothing.

Then I tried to remove the screw under each truck.  I got three off, but the fourth wouldn't budge.  Still could not even get the chassis to show any movement.

I have used my fingers to separate the sides of the shell from the chassis, but still no sign of any give.

Can someone tell me what I have to do to separate the shell from the chassis?

Rich

I must be getting old.

I started Googling for help in removing the shell and came across my own thread from 2013.

I will go back downstairs and try all over again.

Just a bit of follow up to this little thread.

Never buy a BLI Blueline F7B dummy, and if you do, never attempt to take the shell off of the chassis.   It is now among my worst nightmares.  The only good news is that I got it apart and back together again.
