Recent N scale Walthers Cornerstone production vs HO?
Posted by bnsf97 on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 11:56 AM

I've been out of the hobby for around 5 years but several times a year I check Atlas, Athearn, Kato, etc websites to see what's coming out. I've just started planning getting back into trains but in N scale (used to be HO). On a recent trip to Caboose Hobbies in Denver I noticed that there were TONS of "new" Walthers Cornerstone kits in HO. The modern fire station, a bunch of brick stores, the skyscrapers, parking garage, some different styles of houses (ranch, mission-style, etc), and of course some industries.

When I got to the N scale aisle, I barley saw anything new, let alone a great selection. I figured it was because they may have been cleared out since Christmas. When I got home I searched the Walthers website for N scale items and was dissapointed. Now since I have just gotten into N scale, I don't know the history behind production of products and availablity, but I know that there has been some disparity between HO and N scale selection for a long time.

Anyways, does anyone know if Walthers plans to make N scale molds of these "newer" kits in HO? I'm glad they are releasing new stuff regardless as staring at the same structures in HO year after year and recognizing kits gets old. They're in the right direction I think.

Cheers,

Bennett
