The plastic cab broke off my Hudson and the threaded screw attachment stub is broken to a point where there is no way to replace a screw to hold the cab in place. Outside of just gluing the cab in place, which I want to avoid, has anyone had any experience with this and what did you do to fix it?
I haven't had that catastropy happen to me, yet. Think about epoxying a nut in place of the broken off screw attachement.

Model Rectifier Corporation now owns the Mantua product line, so you might be able to get parts from them.
The same thing happened to me. I glued a solid plastic block and self taped a 2/56 screw to replace the broken mount.
Jim
If you glue the cab in place, will there ever be a need to remove it?
Dave
Just be glad you don't have to press "2" for English.

Is the cab the same as the one used on the Mikado? If so, contact me via PM/"Conversation".

Yes, welcome Robbob! It sounds to me like you have been given some pretty good suggestions. Good luck with your fix!

The Mantua Hudson was just their Pacific with a four-wheel truck, so the cab that fits the Pacific / Mikado should also work for the Hudson. Bowser still has some Mantua parts, and we'll see if MRC will have some. When Mantua was still separate I bought cabs from them, IIRC they cost a couple of dollars each.
Despite Model Power selling the Pacific, they were never able to provide the cab as a service part
Let's hope Mrc gets there act together with this line.
RobbobU got one bro'?
All teasing aside, Go to eBay and look for cabs.

Wayne--I am not sure if the cabs are the same since the Hudson is the only one I have. Maybe someone else on this forum knows. Thanks. Bob Robb
No need to go to ebay: contract me as I mentioned previously.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Thanks for mentioning that, Dave. It never occurred to me that he might be unfamiliar with the procedure.
