Show Me Something: August 2014
Posted by BRVRR on Saturday, August 2, 2014 7:52 AM

Here it is, August 2, 2014 and "Show Me Something" hasn't been started for the month yet. So here goes.

The last request was for a "Favorite Scene".

Here is one from the BRVRR:

How about another favorite scene?

One of my favorite scenes on my old layout was this one. It's a small beaver pond inspired by a similar scene on Dick Elwell's Hoosac Valley. I shot this in color and used Photoshop to make it black and white and added some effects to make the photo look old. It was supposed to be one of a series of photos purportedly shot by the NHRS chronicaling the last days of steam on my freelanced Cherokee Foothills Railroad.

Please show me some more black and white photos.

Here's an image I took to get an idea of how my painting and weathering would appear in some simulated period photography - being able to effectively model the beautiful photos taken around the turn of the century is an important goal for me.

Keep the black and white coming, I like it!
