Those are some good-looking heavyweights, Bear. It's always good to hear the Finance Dept. approves of such a great deal!Left HugThumbs UpRight Hug

I started work on my second PSC DL-535E kit this week. Much easier the second time around to have a built example for reference. I'm not hurrying, but it's falling together quite well -- except for a U-joint I managed to mangled in a fit of stupidity. Gotta get the frame straight and true, so I started with the walkway/subframe, which will be sandwiched between the main frame that holds the motor and trucks and the shell that goes on top.

The next evening I got the trucks assembled -- can you spot my error? -- along with the pilots and plow.

Next I briefly contemplated the potential for a narrowgauge SDL39...pretty darn close, I'd say.

Next, I got the trucks and motor assembled on the lower sub-frame. This is when I mangled the U-joint, but NWSL will soon arrive with that vital part.

Last night, I built the basic components of the shell, nose, cab, and hood. This was much easier the second time around. Most of this work was done with a 40W soldering iron.

Obviously, needs some cleanup, but much better than the first.

Gidday All, well when you see my offering this week you may wonder if the Bears honey has fermented and he’s imbibed too much.Beer Not really, but it is something that the Bears Honey did.
Went to a hobby show last Sunday, my only wish that I might find some Micro Set to purchase, (there was and I did). Walking around the various exhibits and trade stands, Her-in-doors stops by a set of second hand passenger cars and asks why I have none? Being incredibly stupid I said I had none because the ones she was looking at were British OO, and besides the LACHLAN RIVER RR is a freight hauler. Well she says “those must be American, are they a good price?” “Yes” and “yes” were my answers, so I am then informed that I am Going To Have a Passenger Service, and that she was going to buy them!! Ignoring my protestations that I would be lacking an RPO, sleeper and at least one express box car, I was told to purchase them if I found them at a later date.
Fan me with a plate of soup!!Surprise
Looking forward to the really good stuff,
Have a Great One ffolkes,Big Smile

Cheers, the Bear.
