Yet another (minor) new forum software irritation...

A few of us use smileys now and then.  When I go to use one, it is placed consistently at the very front of my text.  I have to cut it and paste it where I want it.

I've had that happen once or twice, Crandell.  But - for the most part - I have no problem placing an emoticon anywhere Cool in a block Music of text.  I have noticed that some animated emoticons don't post for me.  (Case in point: The profile of the smilie with the party favor just won't show up.)

Have the same problem with smilies, but in addition only on this forum when there is a message in your private messages, it does not highlight in red like it did before.  I missed a private message that was sent last week and I just noticed it today.  Works on all the other screens, but I default to this one.

Again, no testing by an incompetent IT staff!

I agree with Selector, the smilies always post at the beggining of the massage, and I have to cut/paste to get them where I want them to go

Also, TheAdd Quote to Your Post button has never worked since the "upgrade". If I want to quote someone, I have to copy/paste the quote into the message, instead of having it appear in a gray box.

I am running Win Xp and IE 8 - Maybe someone should test that combination???

Nope, it's the .gif one where the party favor sorta unrolls and rolls back up: 2nd line, 4th from the right of the Emoticon button. Sad

That happens to me all the time with IE8, but never with Google Chrome.

I use Windows XP and IE8 as well, and I have the same problem.

If I switch to Google Chrome, I can use the Add Quote to your Post feature successfully.

Party on via Firefox. Wink

Looks like Party Guy is dead...or maybe in the witness protection program, because I can still see him and the one I made manually there as I Compose this, but they aren't visible in the Read view.

Same here with the smiley.

With other forum software upgrades you could understand why Kalmback made the change but this time it is not evident as to why.

I appreciate that the forum is free to us but we are suffering this time around and for what?

Birthday guy isn't the problem. Party guy    is the problem. I made him appear by entering the gif image line between IMG tags.
