Well, it's been 23 hours and no maintenance facility.

Pictured are hoppers at a flour mill and a pasta plant.

Show another industry.

J&B Scrap.  My section of the club I belong to.  Still a Work In Progress, needing to wire the track, maybe add an unloading track, and put in a tunnel portal.

Show me your oldest piece of equipment (actual age, or era)

(My Model Railroad, My Rules)

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway.  As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

Show me more of your oldest equipment and tell me it's age.

This is the very first model train item that brought me back into the hobby in February 1988, almost 26 years ago: a Front Range Phase III GP9.  I was so excited to see somebody finally manufacturing an HO geep with a scale-width hood.  It's still in active duty, reserved for my younger and/or more "impulsive" guest operators!Big Smile

Show me the oldest piece of rolling stock that is still in service on your layout or club

This outside braced Seaboard Air Line boxcar is 50 to 60 years old. The body is cast metal and the floor is wood. It probably is a Roundhouse kit. After replacing the trucks which were work out and converting to Kadee couplers, we still run this car on teh Boothbay Railway Village layout

A green box car coming up:

This Northern Pacific Railway 40-foot grain box car is one of a group of similar Athearn BB kits I purchased and assembled in 2005. The only addition I made was the installation of Kadee couplers.

Show me a blue box car.

Remember its your railroad

Show me something you bought online.

The two dark-brown cylinders on top of the large recangular building were made from 3-inch o/d Plastruct tubing, plus the various fittings attached to them.  Most hobby shops don't carry any Plastruct tube wider than 1", so whenever I need anything like this, I have to order it directly from Plastruct.

Show me another industrial scene.

Have yet to do the scenery, but here is a more or less completed "Brownidge Power Station" on the SLOW.  Most of the vegetation nearby will be yellow/browish and stunted.  It is a play on words for our now shut down local "Greenidge Power Station" down the road from where I live....

Show me something now shut down from your layout.

This got me started.

In a wonderful serendipity, I was in the supermarket in December, 2006 (probably buying a turkey) when I spotted this set in the small corner toy section.  I was astounded.  I hadn't had an HO train since 1964 and here was a beautiful set for just $99....oval track and all.

That did it!  Built an under bed set for the oval.  Found out about DCC, flex track, knuckle couplers, metal wheel sets,  and trains on Ebay.  Seven years later, 3 layout versions later,  and 135 locos later....130 decoder installs later....including Tsunaami in this AHM (Yugoslavia made, I believe) Sante Fe and it is still one of my favourites, of course.  Too bad the supermarket discontinued the items after this, the 11th set in the series.  I don't think AHM sells locos anymore on a website either, though I haven't checked for a couple years.

Be great if you show me your Presidents Choice (or supermarket) set.
