I'm not sure how many of you guys have seen this, so I thought I'd post it here. Here in Canada (more specifically, on The Weather Network, although it may be on other stations) there is a commercial for Convectaire heating and cooling systems that features model railroading. It was shown on TV a few months ago, but then I saw it again last night.
The commercial opens with a quick half-second shot of a black steam engine with a birght light coming straight toward you. It's not a real train, but I'm not sure what exactly it is (way too quick). It could be Lionel. The commercial then shows a modeller doing detailing work on an HO scale CN geep. Then it shows him placing figures on his very nice layout with tweezers. The comercial then has shots of a guy tying fishing lures and a woman arranging flowers. I paid too much attention to the trains when watching it to hear exactly what was being said, but during the part with the trains the narrator says something about "precision" and "quality down to the finest detail." I like the fact that when it uses those descriptions that it makes a comparison to model railroading.
