I'm sure this is not at all what you meant, but it WAS on my layout when I took this picture, and I did get it for FREE. When I started teaching history, I noticed a shop teacher had some mastodon or mammoth fossils sitting around his shop class and I asked if I could borrow some for a "historical evidence" discussion. He said he had lots of them and gave me a 12,000 year old fossilized mammoth thigh bone, 15 pounds worth, and a few smaller ones. I used them once a year in the prehistoric America introduction to the course, and stored them between times in my home workshop where I build sections before carrying them into the train room inside. When the stickum came loose on my foam layout surface (arrow), I re-stickumed it and weighted it with the most convenient weight. (Though not the most conventional one...)

This is an to progress photo of a large backdrop building I made from leftover parts from other buildings. There are 4 buildings in front, a trough representng a street, and another 4 buildings in back. My main line runs underneath it between Sheepscott and through a view block into Greenvale Junction.
It is done and on my layout now; I just have to add some details behind the upstairs windows and figure out how to light it.

The brass loco is a Far East Distributors mogul with the motor in the tender. I installed a can motor and NWSL greabox and U-joint drive shaft. It works pretty well. I'm not sure of the kit I used for the longer car, but I think it was an old LaBelle kit. Here are a couple of under construction photos:

My 2-6-0 has the motor in the cab so it's not the same one. Having a small layout, I like small locos and the short cars. I use the old Roundhouse Overton cars, but that one is much shorter so I might try bashing one out of a spare roundhouse one I have.

You haven't staid with the thread long enough for the music to start. Hearing the music once or twice isn't so bad but then it gets annoying especially so as I have to adjust the volume lower. So you are pretty lucky after all.

Is your pink loco from a Lionel "girls train set" (which my mother thought was horrible, "STEAM ENGINES ARE BLACK!") or is it done for *** cancer advertising? We have a concrete company with a pink cement mixer, strange to see, but it's for a good cause.
I don't think mother would have objected to your other non-black loco on your roster, Sure wish she could have lived to see my current efforts. She was a real train lover, model or full size.
