Ken,

That's all I got right now.  You have a plan you can post? You had some pretty awesome structures on your last layout.

Chip, here's a link to the plan:

http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e182/CSX_road_slug/CLW_sub_2011_images/CLW_Sub_CSX_6b_sm-3.gif

The track has been laid and wired, and trains can run on it - but it still looks like a construction zone.  Are you referring to the steel mill structures?  That benchwork & track actually survived intact, I just had to flip it around 180* to fit the new plan.  The general theme is the same (industrial switching) as the old layout, except the new one has wider aisles and no duck-unders - it's more operator-friendly.

 So, how many double slips?

I've doubled the double-slips.  I now have a W/S #6 and the one I made using the Fast Tracks method seven years ago.  They aren't in place yet because I haven't started on the yard on my new layout.  I began building it in the loft over our barn-like garage in January of last year.  Family things came up in a huge way in early May and I lost momentum and enthusiasm.  I began to see daylight again this year and have been in and out of the loft doing some mountains since about the end of February.  If you care to wade through it all, Mark (Brunton) outed me in a thread he started which is probably on the second or third page of the layouts forum.  I update it every three or four years...er...weeks.

FERGIE!

The new house in AZ is a given. The layout size is TBD. I was promised space for a layout. It might be Z-scale on a shelf in towel closet. My wife's memory tends to lapse when she makes deals. I'm shooting for 20 x 30 though.

Nice slide show Tom. I'm still thinking I'm going to come visit your layout someday. Don't be surprised if there is a knock on your door.

Glad to have you back, Chip.  Keep us posted on the new adventures in Arizona, huh?  Gorgeous state.  If you get bored with the scenery you're in, drive 25 miles or so,it's almost guaranteed to be totally different, lol!

Hi Chip,

Glad to see you back here again for the moment at least. I haven't been here as much myself because I just rebuilt my layout, no scenery or structures yet so nothing worth photographing.  [I do however sneak an occasional 'old layout' picture onto the "Show Me Something ______" thread.]

Wow Ray, there's some nice stuff on the SLOW.  You have any wide angle shots so I can get a feel for the entire layout? Last thing I saw was your then-new gazebo.

Hey Chip!

Good to see the Spacey Mouse back in here...  So you're moving to Adrid Zonah huh?  Hope it works out wonderfully for you and you get a huge space for a new layout!

Don't forget to show us what you do get and what you make of it!

We have missed you around here!

Crandell,

Glad to see you are still here. It seems kinda peaceful. You must be doing a good job of it.

As you read, I'm doing the arm-chair modeling thing now. How's your layout doing? I bet by now you've ripped it up and moved up in the world. So, how many double slips?

Hi, Chip.  It is good to hear from you again.  I figured your work kept you busy because it involved some learning, practice, and then the actual application a few years back, and I expect that it has been a going concern for you since then.  I recall you dropped in for a brief 'hi' maybe three years back already.

A move is a very big deal, as you surely know, but it is always a fresh start in so many ways.  I hope it works out well for both of you, and your lovely boy...now a teenager?  Time flies.

I wish you well, and hope you will soon be a regular here once again.

Jim and George,

The new layout space is part of the move. Either a basement, a room, or an outbuilding. And yes, 20x30 would be cool. Not that wouldn't settle for 12 x 12.

G-man,

Don't try that reverse shrinkology on me. I've been to the Spock School of Emotional Control. (And I know the shoulder pinch too.)

Thanks everyone. Just to catch you all up. I am between layouts. I got the benchwork done, I got stalled coming up with the money for track, my wife's art career took off and she needed the space. I prepared a new space and now we are moving to Arizona and now that room has been abandoned to sell the house.

Moving to the Cottonwood area outside of Sedona. There is a railroad museum with a layout, but I haven't found a local club.

Anyway, the wife is looking for a new house with my railroad in mind. I'm thinking 20 x 30, hehe.

Welcome back, SpaceMouse! Have enjoyed your website and your posts in the forums. Best wishes on the move to sunny Arizona (Make sure your house has a swamp cooler...). And is the 20 X 30 the house, or the layout size? Whistling

Blessings,

Jim in Cape G.

Tom,

Cottonwood has not quite the views for a lot less the price. My wife has gotten her paintings into a gallery in Sedona and another in Scottsdale--plus she has a sister in Tuscon.

I considered selling my competition guns before I left, but I think I will keep them. I think the Clantons are safe however.

Sedona is a pretty part of AZ, Chip.  I love the drive up along 89A.  Is Cottonwood artsy like Sedona?

You know you'll eventually have to make the trip down to Tombstone.  Given your six-shooter skills, you could probably become a regular for either the Clantons or the Earps.  The fellas walking around town in costume are pretty gritty and look the part.

Paul,

I'll probably start up some form of website when I start my new layout. I still have the old one on ice.

Tom,

Shane is 15, almost 16. I tried to sell his 2-8-0 last year, but he wasn't having any of it. Maybe he will get interested when I build the next layout. He's mostly into video games and wants to make videos about video games.

Brakie,

You still keeping these foamers in line?
