"Stickys"
Posted by NP2626 on Monday, March 25, 2013 2:31 PM

Will the first page of this General Discussion Forum eventaully be filled with nothing but "Stickys" posted by the Admins.?  There is one about some trouble with a change that was posted back in November of 2012. There is one on the rules, which probably should be kept at the front of the list.  Then the latest, which is about some maintenence that I believe is long finished!  Maybe a couple of these could be removed, huh?

As far as I can tell, the "maintenance" is not yet complete, as it refers to the fact that certain things can not be accessed until the new website for the on-line content stuff starts up, supposedly on April 1.

I don't know why the post count thing is still there, unless that is still an issue.

And the third thing about rules is still there because certain individuals seem to always want to push the limits of acceptableness.

The sticky on rules makes perfect sense. The other two can go softly into the night and not be missed by this particular creature...

Frank, It certainly is Model Railroaders Forum.  With there only being 20 threads making up the first page (lets face it, everyone wants their thread to stay on the first page) having three "Stickys" at the top of the list means that there are only 17 positions for John Q. Public's threads to stay on the first page.  In itself, not a big deal.  However, given that at least one of the "Stickys" is pretty old and outdated information, makes me think the Admins. may not be paying as much attention as maybe they should.

"Stickys" are a great way to keep the forum participants informed.  However, the information they contain should either be timeless; or, removed when the information they contain is obsolete.  Just sayin'!Smile

NP2626,

I agree with the positions, however,, I'm sure you did notice that there are a lot of new be people on the Forums, that being said, most people do not read about rules. Especially if they have to go to another thread to do so,,,,, Again, it is their ball and bat,,,,, LOL

Cheers,

Frank
