Model Railroader's "Harbor Railroad" project
Posted by oregon shay on Saturday, January 26, 2013 11:26 AM

As I am in the process of extending my Utah Northern RR to the coast and am incorporating a harbor into my design, it is with great interest that I will follow Model Railroader's latest project railroad.  Unfortunately, I am not able to access the video from the webcam link on the Model Railroader homepage.  I get the error message that follows -  "server not found:rtmpt://media.trains.com:80/rtplive" A call to Kalmbach's technical support yielded the logical answer that there is an incompatibility between my PC and the server that provides the video from the webcam.

I would like to hear from any forum members that are able to access this webcam.  Please include what platform (PC brand, type, and model), operating system, browser, internet connection, and any software you used to access the webcam video.  I am using a one year old HP Pavilion G6 laptop running Windows 7, on a wi-fi connection, and have tried both Google Chrome and IE 9, with no success.  I am able to view other live webcams, ie Oregon DOT traffic cams.  Thanks for your help.

Will.

I'm getting it--I can see the second hand moving on the clock.

Apple Macpro, Leopard, Safari, Comcast.  Just clicked on it, and it ran--nuthin' special.

Good luck,

Ed

I can see it using a Dell XPS/L502X running Windows 7 64 bit home premium.  Use my home Linksys wireless router connected to Internet via cable company.  Browser is Firefox 17.0.1.

Hope this helps

Good luck

Paul
