Tristan (the plush duck in the photo) was riding along on Goose #5 when it derailed. I think he fell off and pushed the Goose over. Not sure exactly what happened as my sister was running the Goose. But the resulting photo is kind of funny. It even looks like he is frowning.

Hum, not a good choices! Just had a nasty derailment. Had a box car come uncoupled, did not notices it. Train came back around hit them, then rammed them into a 40 car train sitting on a passing spur!
What caused the accident? All I did was add 6 free wheeling coal cars at the rear of the train?

You ask for it. here is the start four years ago. A 4' X 12' start The after is 5' X 30' . I'm still waiting to get up the energy to do all the trees and detail work. The town is supposed to go on the left end. It's not fancy but I can run some trains for the grand kids. It is a free lance some place in the Rockies.

Thank you Michael. I have been a lurker for far too long and have enjoyed watching your layout progress as well. The building isn't anything fancy just a Pikestuff 2 bay engine house kit. It is spiffed up with Walthers rooftop details, the blower on the top and the vents on the side. Inspiration came from Cody G.
The coal cars are Walthers UP in the 6 pack with JWD coal loads.
EDIT: I should mention that the coal is in Walthers Bethgon Coalporter cars with couplers replaced with Kadee.

I am still developing the area as you can see by the unfinished nature. So will share more as I finish. Right now I am working on a drive in so maybe some time before I get to more on the power plant. In the meantime here is another angle.

If you look real closely to the left, you'll see the Walthers Tri-State Power plant behind the roto-dumper. I could say this is where my steel mill gets its electricity from; but, truth be told, it has been repurposed as a baghouse for hot dust and gases from the adjoining Basic Oxygen Furnace mill. The coal cars in the background deliver metallurgical coal for the coke ovens.
Since I'm not sure this qualifies, show me either an actual power plant model or any other lineside industry that consumes coal.
The coke oven receives coal. It is the Walthers kit with additional structures added to it.
