Alco PA2 grilles
Posted by arob48 on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 1:40 PM

I have been looking for well over a year now for the Detail Associates GR 2701 Farr Grilles that were used on the PA's. I read that they are no longer being made by DA, and despite trips to train shows hoping that a vendor might have them, they apparently are becoming rare. hence my question: does nayone know of a source for them? I am in the process of converting an ABBA set of Athern shells to the PA2 configuration, and at the moment, only have enough to complete one of the A units. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. As i stated in my original post, I have added the grilles to one of the A units, but still have another A and two B units to do. It would take a minimum of two packages of the grilles to complete the set of locomotives, depending of course on which road numbers I choose to do. My point is I dont want to acquire your entire stock and you not have any for a future project, as these grilles seem to be getting rare. I even emailed the owner of Plano Model Products as he does make the Farr grilles for the EMD E and F units, but not the Alcos. He replied that the Alco grilles were not something he planned to make in the future. At any rate, please let me know how much you want for a package and how many you are willing to part with and we can go from there. thanks again for the reply.
