I modified the SEPTA Silverliner V models by drilling out light gaskets making incisions on the once molded designated boards for future lighting. I made those incisions by first drilling out holes and then cutting the remaining resin between the holes with an X-Acto hobby knife. Making incisions without drilling holes would be impossible on these tough shells. With the aid of a hobby knife I then uses the knife to remove the interior seat set. Then I removed the glue residue by sanding for a smooth reinstallation. I installed metal flat bars for extra weight, then reinstalled the interior seats. I then installed 15 1/2 ounce adhesive weights inside the roof's interior and four on the bottom of the undercarriage. The Silverliners are now allot heavier; I mean allot heavier! and feel allot richer. I will do the same for the Arrows. I installed a Digitrax decoder (SDH164D) with sound on the powered Silverliner. It runs fine on DCC. The next project will be to install lighting. I have Developer a universal Standard by using LED strips as interior lighting. I will use bright white to replicate the interior lights of the prototype. These cars look wonderful on my layout and it modernized it too.
