A friend sent me a couple links to GE and ALCO/GE promotional movies from 1941 and 1950. Lots of interesting snippets of stuff including Hulets, car retarders, hump yards, steam, dining car, diesel, car float, rotary snow plow...................something for almost everyone. Enjoy.

Those films were both informative and entertaining! Thank you for sharing.
The 1941 film covered so many things it was hard to keep track, but the last bit with the staged scenes with the model train running in the background was actually hilarious. My how far we have come with our cinematic skills!
Good stuff!!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Great films. It is rather sad that we no longer see films that portray America and it's people and industry in a positive light. It does not seem that long ago that we were all convinced that things would continue to improve every year and they did.
Those films were a bit before I was born but they still brought back memories of my childhood and the promise of the future.
