Nippon Gakki!

Galaxy, Victor Borge used to do a routine about learning Japanese by playing tapes while he slept.... Put the tape player under his pillow and pushed play.  Lessons in the Japanese language.  He said it worked great and he had very easily learned to speak Japanese.  Only problem was that he could only speak it while he was sound asleep!   He did remember a few words though, like Yamaha, Toyota........... Smile, Wink & Grin

Whoa!  It's doing something outside....  Not sure what it is though.  Seems to be either a slow falling rain or...  Oh, now it has turned white so I think it is something known as a Flurry!  May be what they call "partly Cloudy"?  Yep THATs it, partly cloudy.

Oh, breakfast this morning, Zoe, I'll have the Breakfast bagel with sushi and cheese....  Oh please cook the sushi stuff for me!  Coffee, dark roast, and several refills please.

Barry, cats do strike some of the most interesting posses don't they!

Jeffrey, glad you got the sugar problem rectified quickly!  Take care of yourself!  Yep, I was going to post before I went to bed last night and got tired of waiting for the forum page to load...............

Later!

Good Morning Modelers!

It's 19F and it's lightly snowing here but should not amount to much.  Nothing new on the D&H Rocky Mountain Empire just slowly loading my Roster Photos into my secondary blog for easy of inventory tracking.  Just finished up uploading my Tank Cars yesterday.

It's SNOWING and 14°F outside, already 1/16th of an inch on the ground. I sure hope we do not get snowed in!

Flo.... Some wildebeest on a bagel sounds pretty good right about now.

Good morning. It's 48° and mostly cloudy. The high will be 62°.

Feeling much better this morning. I have a slight headache but that will pass. I have an appointment with the foot doc this afternoon so that's the afternoon pretty much shot. I may be able to get a couple of cars weathered. There's still the question of what to do with the New Haven car. Do I keep it as is or do I strip it and repaint it? I really don't need a New Haven car.

Good Morning!! Coffee and French Toast please. Thanks

Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 42.

David- Thank you for being there and attentive to what Jeff said.

Jeff- WhoaSurprise, don’t scare us like that (as if you intended to). Glad you started to feel better last night.

Nooot much different going on today. Gotta get to the other half of the room to prep and lay the floor in it. Of course I have to do the trucks this morning and then w**k this evening and in between there is a trip to the horse piddle to see about MIL. She is having her colostomy reversal today so I am expected to make an appearance. Probablly give me all of a collective two hours to deal with the floor.

Prayers of thanks for David and hope and wellness to Jeff.

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

I see the forum is moving slower than snail mail. At least I'm moving faster than something. David just checked on me. I feel much better. He checked my blood sugar, temp and blood pressure. All are OK.

Evening All,

At w**k today.

David- It sounds like you did exactly right with what you had available to you. Excellent JobYes. It would be a good plan (as you stated) to keep tabs on Jeff tonight  because he could have some more issues with his BS dropping again. If he has any more problems tonight I would recommend a call to EMS. Additionally I would recommend putting him on his side when possible to help prevent possible aspiration if he vomits during these episodes. Thanks again for being a good friend and caring.

Jeff- I hope you feel better real soon.

Guys, the prayers and good wishes are appreciated. You do not have any idea how much he cares for the people here. He is doing better but is still weak. I was scare4d he might go into coma. It has happened before, but I think he is past the hard part. He is coherent but he cannot get out of bed. I will go home now but I will come back to check on him later and through the night if needed. Keep the prayers coming guys.

Evenin' again,

David!  Thumbs UpThumbs Up  You are quick on the uptake, young man.  As others have said Jeffrey is very well blessed to have a friend like you!  Keep us informed on how Jeff is doing.

I had a hamburger and a mess of fried parsnips for supper so all I need is a couple cups of decaf in a FGLK mug please.  parsnips were Gooooooooooooddddd!  Nice and sweet, so I think they can be harvested any time I find the time.

Almost every day I check out my Credit Union accounts online.... Usually just something to do, but also I can monitor and see if there are any strange things going on.  I checked out my credit card while I was at it and there was the charge from the Dentist which I expected, but right below it in the "pending" column was a charge from a company I have never heard of nor done business with...... SurpriseSuper Angry  So I spent several minutes on the telephone trying to get through to a real live human being...  Ever notice how company telephones will do almost anything today to prevent anyone actually speaking to a human???  Anyway now I am without a credit card for a couple weeks while I wait for "official" forms to arrive by snail mail and get sent back and then a new card to be sent to me.  Dang, the car is almost out of gas too.  I told the guy I would have to resort to "pictures of dead presidents" for a while.  There was a pause, then he laughed and said, "Oh, I get it!"  Guess it is a good thing I check my accounts regularly......

Got in touch with the electrician (he is Scoutmaster of my old Troop) and he will be over Wednesday Afternoon to put in another electrical outlet in the layout room for me.

Wa atode!

Gee, David, within less than an hour he was in desparate shape. Sounds like he shoulda had a glucose tablet or two BEFORE cooking Dinner after his last posting!

TG you were there to help! You are our {collective} HERO!!!Bow Angel Angel Smile, Wink & Grin

Take good care of that boy as he just got a box of new goodies he said!

I am hypoglycemic so I know the ins and outs of sugar problems. I have learned to eat right away when necessary and I carry glucose tabs with me everywhere. I know it can happen *snap* just like that!

Special thoughts and prayers go out to our Jeffrey!

And a HEARTY THANK YOU  and a WELL DONE to YOU David!

Guys, I have some bad news right now but it looks like it will improve. I am over at Jeff's place. After he said he was not feeling well I tried to call him on the phone to check on him. No answer. I assumed it was bad and got a blanket and two of my mom's glucose tablets and a small first aid kit and went over to his place. Knocking on the door there was no answer. I banged harder, no answer. I unlocked the door the way he showed me -no key- and there he was out on the floor on his side - sweating like he was in a sauna and hardly breathing. I checked him out and turned on his back with his head turned the his side. Breathing was better. I broke up a glucose tablet and put it under his tongue, braced his feet up then covered him. I have done this before. I gave him water when he could take it and he quickly came back around. As soon as he was able I helped him up and put him to bed and gave him the other glucose tablet and a glass of water. At 245 he is no light weight and he freely admits it. He looks better but he is real weak. I went ahead and cooked the dinner he had made and I will feed him as much of it as he can take. I will stay with him until he can do well on his own.

Gogo no hitobito!

Chloe, I'll have a cup of hot chocolate to tide me over to suppertime.

Got up to 51°F this afternoon....  Way too warm out to light the wood stove, so i have been feeling clod all day.  Just did go and light it as it will be going down to 32° tonight.

Moved all the small power bench tools I have off the old more or less of a workbench in the workshop today.  Need to finish getting stuff off the shelves and then move the old what was the original kitchen cabinets out to be dismembered and trashed...  I'll gave to get a photo of it before dismemberment takes place.....

Decided I want some fried parsnips tonight....  Went out to the (muddy) garden and dug a few.  Most i will leave in hopes that we get enough Winter too turn them nice and sweet.  Looks like I have a good crop though.

Later!

Got the laundry done. Yes sir, general sir! Three bags full!

Well I got something in the mail today other than the usual from Capital One and AARP. A friend of mine told me he was sending me some Kadee coupler boxes. I was expecting a small envelope. What I found was Priority Mail small flat rate box. That was a just a little big for coupler boxes. I open it up, there's an Athearn blue box C&EI 50' double door boxcar body, several trees of coupler boxes (242 and 232 and what look like pieces of a couple of 233's), a Casadio HO lit dead end bumper, a pulpwood load (intact) for a Tyco pulpwood flat, six Athear box car doors, a Tyco block switch, what looks like some porch rails and posts, a green roof walk for a 40' boxcar, two patch cables probably for a video camera (one video to video, the other left right audio), one light blue crimp connector (I know exactly where that's going).

Now I have to get something to eat. I'm feeling light-headed so my blood suger level is likely the cause.

Coffee refill, please.

***Ulrich, she's a beauty and will indeed look good teaming up with your other loco. Congrats!

***Dennis, a number of my relatives who still reside in CA., or as they call it, "the left coast" often tell me of the crazy goings-on there. They also say they want to leave that state. Yet, they never do. I wonder if there is something in the water or food they ingest? (like in the 1974 movie: "Planet Earth") Hmm
