I'm looking for HO scale US Army, WWII era figures with rifles raised, ready to fire. I've checked every Preiser set on Walthers website and searched the internet without finding what I want.
Does anyone know of some source for HO scale military figures?
Thanks,
Jeff
There's these:

from Minitanks, for a start. But you're going to have to accept a bunch of non-aggressive soldiers, too.

Don't know exactly what you're looking for, but the following website seems to list some WW2 figures: http://www.reynaulds.com/catalog/dept_338.aspx. You have to scroll through.
Check the Musket Miniatures web site. They make unpainted pewter casting of military figures for several different armies and eras.

I have bumped this thread after several years, because even though I am not the OP I now have a similiar request: I need several WWII US Army soldier figures on guard duty for a diorama - although not with guns ablazing like the OP wanted, but more like this gent. Of the original links supplied in the thread, Musket Miniatures has been sold and seems out of stock on WWII figures (20mm), and the Reynauld link points mostly to Preiser - ah yes, Preiser has pages upon pages of German soldiers doing everything from fighting to lining up for mess to getting captured, and they have several Russian soldier sets too, but their non-modern era US soldiers seem limited to a set of 6 1950s figure, which I think was released in conjunction with a Walthers name train offering, and Soliders w/ children (which has a pretty decent MP figure but nothing else I could use), and two unpainted sets of various non-sentry poses. I would have sworn I've seen sets from Trident or Herpa or the like, but apparently I am mistaken. My searches on the Walthers catalog, and Google in general, are turning up less than nada, so does anyone know of some good sets of WWII HO US soldier figures on guard duty?

Maybe you can doctor this one: http://www.reynaulds.com/products/Preiser/16573.aspx, or this one: http://www.reynaulds.com/products/Preiser/16593.aspx

Plus they are holding M-16 rifles. Those are more 1960ish soldiers, like Vietnam era. On their shoulder harness strap above their heart, is a Medi-Pac, that contain Morphine break & stick needle's for wounds that a Medic will use.....if Your still alive, after being hit.
I tried a couple of source's that I know of, but none have what You are looking for.
Good Luck!

Yes, I saw those Preiser sets before - I think they were even in the links from 3 years ago. Here's what the US Modern Infantry set looks like close-up. Not a great match for WWII soldiers without a lot of filing, sanding, and patching.I was hoping to avoid plastic surgery, and was sure that some companies do or did offer WWII US soldiers in the poses I wanted. Often somebody in these sort of threads chimes in with a small manfacturer (which is how I heard of Musket Miniatures in a thread long ago, among other small firms over the years). One big problem in searching is a lot of kits for 1:72 figures are returned, and the are not necessarily labeled as such in the results.
These are 1/72nd scale. Don't know if they will work. http://www.hobbylinc.com/1:72-Scale-World-War-II-WWII-Plastic-Model-Military-Figures

ETA: Apparently it was the Model Power Military Figure sets I was thinking of - 5699 US Combat Infantry Figures (I'm getting the images off eBay, so no real link). 2 figures in the 8 figure set are usable, although they are holding their rifles level, and not in shoulder arms sentry stance.
Chutton01,
You are correct about the steel pot.....I overlooked that when I saw them, everthing else would have been ok though. I went through this search thing years ago when I was doing diorama's....hard to find some things in 1/87.
If You would like to take a look at one of the sites I looked through earlier, here is the link.....I could have possibly missed some thing You could use:
http://www.michtoy.com/michtoy_search_product.php?Vendor_ID=Preiser%20Elasotlin&Types=Toy%20Soldiers%20and
Here is another one. They have 1/87 scale Tanks and such. But did not see any 1/87 figures....1/76 yes:

Hopefully You did not already search there.
Roco, made military models also.
Again..Good Luck!

The Model Power figures are pretty good. Although likely just a bit too modern for WWII era. I'm not sure if they are made anymore though.
I use them aloong with some Preiser figures on my late 1950s layout:
Preiser makes some nice US WWII appropriate soldiers, however all are in nonshooting positions.
Some sets include:
590-10014
590-10954
590-10613
