I was looking for another project on the Boothbay RR Village layout when I noticed an undeveloped area in the fishing village next to the main line, and bounded by the depot, the boat yard and the harbor. I also found an old Woodland Scenics Memorial Park kit among the donated items, and the Fisherman's Memorial Park was born. To fit the small space I had to do some selective compression on the kit, leaving off 2 tables and grills and the playground equipment. I added figures from our collection and a Bar Mills Insta-fence around it.

It's been a while since I contributed to this thread, busy taking exams to be a registred architect.
We are actually working like crazy to complete the basic scenery of the peninsula depicting the famous (a little bit) Murray Bay subdivision.
First - Cap Tourmente blasted rock tunnel:
Second - A train running throught a marsh and crossing Sault-aux-Cochons (Pig's River) brooke.
Third - A C424 on Sault-aux-Cochons' bridge :
Fourth - Wolfe's Cove tunnel and Esso oil terminal (Sillery):
Fifth - CPR Wolfe's Cove's tunnel and Canada Cement loading/unloading facility (scratchbuilt):
Sixth: A pair of Bowser C630M freshly arrived. Atlas station has been replaced by a prototypical QRL&PCo Hedleyville Station:

MisterBeasley While we're talkin' trash here, I've been working on my scrapyard. I had fun with extreme weathering here. The junk cars and the old boiler in the third picture were done with Instant Rust. Most of the junk piles are castings I've picked up here and there over the years, in anticipation of one day having a scrapyard. (What a life goal, huh?) Most of these scrap pile castings are kind of small, so I elevated them by putting them on scraps of roadbed, and in some cases I added some more height by stacking that on some pink foam. The magic of the camera shows me that I've still got some work to do to hide some of the roadbed and foam beneath the castings. The office building, plank fence and light poles were scratchbuilt.

After I get done weathering the trucks I clean the wheels by putting the locos on my test track and run the engine over an alcohol cloth. Once I clean the rear wheels I then turn it around and hold it in place to clean the front wheels. I used to tape the wheels but I found it is just easier to do it this way. Thanks for the nice words.

Motly; it was the Mormon rocks area of Cajon pass @ hwy 138 (close to home) Ice cold temps and the train was 1 1/2 hours late . wrapped the dollar store tri pod w/my flip video around a defect detector ,wasn't much time to think as the train took the BNSF track instead of the UP tracks where everyone was waiting . lucky for me a friend called me from Blue cut an warned it was on BNSF tracks so after a Cross country run I just made it ,felt terrible for all the folks waiting at the UP tracks

Thanks Motley, one thing I do on mine, if I have the shell off is to put a 9V battery across the motor leads & apply liquid paint mask on the wheels with a brush, as if it was that BullFrog stuff, it comes off easy & there is no other issues, at least on mine! I tried that once & now it is just a habbit. Just a thought..

Will -Nice weathering job on the SD70s. Now, are you just cleaning the wheels after you paint? Also, I thought I was the only one who likes the MU cables tucked under the plow. I like the cleaner look.
