Great work, everyone!
Here's Espee's "Gold Coast" detouring west over the Yuba River Sub, running as the second section of Rio Grande's "Scenic Limited", due to traffic congestion over parallel Donner Pass. Motive power is #4191, an AC-8 Cab Forward. The "Gold Coast" is often referred to as the "Cold Roast" by military personnel who make up the bulk of the train's passengers.
The loco is an old Max Gray import from the 1960's that has been extensively reworked.

Since I did not get anything completed this week, I thought I would show the next kit I am working on.
I have started construction of a Rail Shops Carbon Black Car, the first Flat Kit for a Covered Hopper since I built the old Ramax cars in the 70's.
This is an overview of all the kit parts, with the start of putting the kit together with one side and one end glued together. You will notice the little bundle of wires in the foreground. Those are for all the grabs that need to be made and installed.
A closer look of the completed end and side, this was the method used in the Eel River cars so I thought I would use it for this car and any other flat kits I will do in the future. The little odd shaped black thing in the center of the photograph is the fixture for bending the wire for the various size grabs to be installed in the kit.

Rule 1: This is my railroad.
Rule 2: I make the rules.
Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!
selector It has been a while since I started one of these, and I happen to have a new image.

What a coincidence. I just happen to have one as well.
I'm trying to model 1956, not live in it.
I did some batch painting this week, some good, some iffy, but learned from it...
