Hello all, here is a nice early down under flavoured start to WPF.... Been working on the layout the last few days. Here is another pic of the layout showing the progress so far: And one more of the three new freight cars I got, The two BLMA reefers and the Micro Trains CR boxcar which has some pretty nifty art work on it... The layout might soon be making an extension of the staging yard to another scenicked area with a coal flood loader... any excuse to run a coal train... hehe Enjoy the weekend...

Did some trading with a member here and pick this up.
It is a Mehano T2A (think that is correct) Santa Fe type 2-10-2. From what I have read here on the site the Mehano engines are not know for there detail, this one has a good amount of detail.
I need to open it up and see what sizes decoder will fit in the engine.
Think it is going to become a Monon engine after the decoder is installed.

Here are some cars that I have finished this week!
Atlas 17,600 Gallon Corn Syrup Tank, painted and lettered for CPC Int'l with Herald King Decals.
Front Range 50' ACF boxcar as a stand-in for a GATC Car, substituted Branchline 6 Panel Superior Doors to match the prototype, Painted Boxcar Red, with Silver Oddballs Decals. (They also have white and yellow for the same car)
Atlas 23,500 Gallon Tank Car, painted Signal Red and lettered with Oddballs Decals.

Great start to the weekend fun!
Ever since I built my farm area, my cows have wandered off on their own. Since they're not glued down yet, my wife likes to place them around the layout to see if I notice. It's actually kind of funny to see what she comes up with. Well, I came home yesterday to find that one of them had wandered over to where the ladies are doing laundry! I have to say, this one cracked me up.
What a GREAT early start, and some MIGHTY FINE pics of your layouts. I have been working on the mountain/tunnel area (was tired of looking at pink foam). So, here are some progress shots.
Two things: 1. This scene/area is not done 2. My layout is not perfect, it never will be

My daughter and I finally got the carfloat & apron installed, water effects and some basic ground cover done.Following some advice by David K. Smith, we ended up screwing the float to the layout to ensure rail alignment.Still need to add some more details: ropes, more weathering on deck, dockside details, etc.But it's nice to have the track 100% done, along with our staging / connection to the off-layout world.

This scene is from my first layout. In fact, all the pictures I have been posting ether it be WPF or the show me thread (all the waterfront shots) are from my first layout, which is long gone. I took that layout down last year. I am now working on my second layout. I'll take some pictures of the new layout soon.

Been working on the downtown of my layout. Just completed the Walthers kit "Simmons Five and Dime" http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3464and turned it into Napa. just gotta get the interior done and the building will be complete.
