To the MR staff,

In the 80's or 90's you ran a piece about an N scale switching layout based on a Milwaukee Road branch in the Chicago area. I have that issue somewhere with that piece in it. However, in the past year or two, I believe you ran a short "follow-up" piece on this layout, but for the life of me cannot find it. Can you please tell me what issue this follow up piece is in? I'm looking to model this layout. Thanks....

That does sound like Bill Denton's Kingsbury Branch. The article on that layout (inspired by the 1975 article Jim mentioned) was in MR January, 1997.

But I don't remember any follow-up more recently in the magazine.

Oops, there was a follow up on operations on the layout in the May 1998 MR.

Thanks much for the help guys! I found both articles, as I have all of 1997 and 1998 issues. It was Bill Denton's Kingsbury Branch. Unfortunately, I don't have the earlier issue....

Thanks for asking that question. I have almost worn out my 1975 issue looking at that article. That article inspired me to get off my duff and build a layout of my own  loosely based on that article, but I didn't know there was a follow-up article to it. I dug through a bunch of old MR magizines I bought a while ago at a Flea market and low and behold I had the Jan 97 issue. One thing I did notice was how thick that MR was in those days, 218 pages as compared to about 94 in this months issue, and all for only 3.95
