Just a note to Bob (E flat I think...).
I want to apologize for being a grump last night. it was a long and expensive day yesterday (an electrician came and rewired my computer area so I can have clean power for all the stuff I have...) so I guess I got a bit grumpier than normal.
Yes, I also think this is the best thread to hit this forum in a long, long time. I look forward to all the posts and being able to contribute on occasion myself.
OK, back to looking for an SD70Ace in any scheme.

Jarrell, it has been over 2 hours on the icing dock. (what ever that is)
So here some for Art.
The miss planed part in the turn going back to the main bench.
Here is what it looks like today.
While I not happy with the turn, it works. Part is 22 inch and part 18 inch. Tracks well most of the time.
Show me the newest thing on your layout. (could be a old style engine that is new to you)
I hate Rust
It looks like Grampy requested an icing dock next.

I don't mind having my hand slapped. But then I wouldn't be in this hobby if I weren't some kind of a masochist.
Show me something that went perfect right from the start. No that would be imposible. Show me a mess that turned out OK. OR back to where we were.
Bob, you're right... there have been a rule or two changed along the way but I thought it was necessary to include as many forum members as possible. Early on the thread was beginning to morph into a "Stump The Forum' thread, which actually might be a fun thread by the way.
I, like Ray, have thought the term 'genric' was lost on some, that they didn't really understand what was meant. I even looked the word up and the four definitions I found didn't fit what we're trying to say here. Maybe we should be saying 'general in nature'. In any event requests should be made that would have the likelihood of the maximum number of replies, not the least.
All in all the thread has been very, very successful... much more than I ever thought it would be. I guessed it would go for a few pages then die off, and that's completely due to the fine people we have on this forum, certainly not anything I've done except get it started. I rarely am fast enough to get in the action but that is ok by me. I still get to see some great modeling, like Grampys Gulf 2 bay service station complete with the hose thingy that rings the bell when a car drives across it.
I love it..
I sincerely apologies to anyone whose toes I came to near to stepping on, I never mean to do that.
Well, I hope I haven't gotten us off track too bad, I've forgotten what the next request is for!
superbe This is one of if not the most interesting threads but after 60 pages with rules changes along the way it is no wonder that one may need to have his hands slapped with a ruler. "Flying A" two pump service station as being close enough... I don't think so. They ought to be atleast be Gulf pumps Thanks Grampy Happy Railroading Bob

A little late, but here's a two bay Gulf station. DJ.

jacon12 I give up, you guys win. I know there are Gulf 2 bay service stations out there, but what are the odds. Jarrell

OK, since the request is not in keeping with the spirit of the thread, I'll offer a "Flying A" two pump service station as being close enough... (Wonder if some don't get the meaning of "Generic"...... )
Show me a 6 bolt rail bar on a #4 Atlas left hand turnout connecting to the mainline where both have been hand painted rust color...... Uh, NO! I guess not! How about, show me a tank.
The most memorable time for me was when I first started weathering the rails. Before when you looked at the layout the tracks really stood out. Afterwards they faded into the background where they belonged.

My Sierra, before DCC and the mountain I got at the Division Christmas sale, pulling my coal train (also from the sale) for the first time. The track barely ran, but I got the coal drag all the way around. This was the first time in 50 years that I built track that would run a train
Here is the same mountain with the coal train adn a very out of place deisel.

The request is for a cattle guard, and the time is about up for it.
Once again, please make request not too specific. As you can see the thread moves along at a fairly rapid pace and more people get to join in when requests are more generic in nature.
Also... one more time... the image must be from your or your clubs layout.
Art, now I'm sitting here looking at your willows, then I look outside and see the real McCoy and yours look fine to me. If you don't want them send me a pm and I'll give you and address where they will be put to good use.

Hum Art, I was looking something that was fixed that you should have thrown away. Not something throwing it away would have fixed!

Thanks Wayne, but they are not very good, really. Maybe someone here has a good one. That would be a bonus "SHOW ME" How about a Weeping Willow that looks good.
I think the request is still for ore cars.
Art,
Your willows look pretty good, we have two right outside our living room window and you did a good job replicating mother nature's handiwork. Very Nice.
My second attempt at a Weeping Willow would have been fixed if I had thrown it away.
