410-M paint

Sometime ago a question was asked about matching the old 410-M paint used in the '40' & '50's I was an avid devotee of that brand until it was taken off the market so a lot of my rolling stock was painted using that brand. I am now using Scalecoat 1. When the question was asked in MR about matching 410-M I just had started building a Silver Streak Hart gondola that recommended 410-M Boxcar red. I am happy to say that Scalecoat 1 # S-1 Boxcar red is spot on. I checked it against my older rolling stock which matched quite well. Scalecoat is a gloss finish while 410-M was flat but a little shot of Dull coat fixes that.
