Grampy, I love the addition to your already amazing layout. What's funny to me is my favorite part of this shot is the tree. I like the variation in the leaves. Good work!
Mike Kieran Awesome photos guys. Brakie, is your diesel a nod to the Atlantic Coast Line?

Mike,I believe the previous owner had ACL in mine when he decided on a paint scheme.
My thoughts was to strip and repaint this locomotive but,now I decided to keep her as she is since its a sharp looking engine.

I laugh that you say almost finished because it's very rare that you see a fraction of the detail that you put into your modelling efforts.

I just do what the majority of the voices in my head vote on.
Lots of modeling talent on display, this week.
I finished my scrap yard this week. DJ.
Ulrich, great photo, you should try submitting to MRR, your modelling and shots are just as good as much that gets published.
Robby, I really like your subtle weathering on the hopper. Really excellent, not overdone and very realistic.

Great scenes & excellent curtom work already!! Great Job!
This is a Walthers Kasgro Depressed Center Flat car that I detailed & weathered. I added cut bars, train air lines, & a little plumbing. I also drilled out the tie-down points with a #70 drill. I weathered the deck by breaking the surface with used 240 paper, then lightly drybrushed silver in wear areas, followed by rust & grimy black powders. I airbrushed the underside of the truck areas for bottom weathering. The pushing unit is an Athearn RTR Iowa Interstate GP38-2 with some added details & weathering. From researching these units, I observed they are kept pretty clean & well maintained, so I tried not to over weather them. I have also seen IAIS moving Wind generator equipment, so a big load requiring this type of car may not be far fetched for them.
Here are last weeks completed cars. This is the second 40' 1937 AAR Boxcar by IMRC that I did for the New Haven using Highball Graphics Decals. This is an E&C Models 50' PS1 Boxcar, E&C is the latter version of the PS and is correct for this car. Details West Extended Coupler Pockets and lettered with Oddballs Decals. This is an Atlas 23,000 Gal Tank Car lettered for the Sun Oil Co. using Herald King Decals.Everybody, thanks for looking, and no rust on my railroad!

Rule 1: This is my railroad.
Rule 2: I make the rules.
Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!
Here's a new one from me.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Here's my newest addition.
Its a used Athearn SW1500 lettered for a freelance railroad.
Motley - I tell you a secret. I´d be happy to see one of my pictures published in the MR Trackside Photo section one day, but I don´t think I am good enough.
Ulrich,
What an outstanding photo! I'm glad you have your own layout back, your modeling skills are top notch.
Here's a couple of shots of my new Colorado Ski Train.
