A couple from the glory days of Terry Walsh:

  • Barque and Knotts Lumber Company
  • Thrust and Parry Fence Company
  • Laydee-Zunder Warehouse

To really appreciate that last, you need to have ridden a department store elevator operated by a human who would announce the products available on a floor.

My own are Japanese - in jokes that my family would get, but totally opaque to strangers (even Japanophones.)

Clever Puns for Business Names
Posted by Doug from Michigan on Sunday, March 27, 2011 9:43 AM

From time to time I come across some very funny, clever names used for businesses on layouts.  I need to start writing them down so I can remember them when it comes time to name the buildings in my business district.

Some examples that I remember off the top of my head:  E.Coli Meat Packing, Hoffa Cement, and the always infamous law offices of Dewey, Cheatem & Howe (gotta love the Stooges!).

Got any more?  Let's here them.
