Valspar Granite paint
Posted by UncBob on Saturday, March 26, 2011 7:54 AM

While at Lowes paint department I picked up a swatch of Valspar granite paint

It can be premixed in your choice of color or you can get the crystals separate

Looks like it could be used for gravel roads or parking lots etc and easier to apply than fine ballast material

Anybody try it ?

Haven't tried a brush on textured paint, but have used rattle can textured paint and it gave the effect I was looking for.  Give it a try and let us know how it comes out.  If it's too coarse for roads you can always paint it on rocks, give them some good washes and some vegetation and I'll bet they will look just fine.

Good luck,

Richard

I, too, have used the rattle can texture paints, but didn't even know it came in a brush on variety.
