This SD-40T-2 topic needs another bump to go with the -45 tunnel question...

That sounds like a really cool idea, but just to let you know, Athearn is going to come out with the 40T-2,  The same guy that did the tooling for the 45T-2s is doing the 40's.  Yea he happens to live in Eugene Oregon, 25 minutes norh of were I live.
just a thought

I figured Athearn would do that. Glad to hear it's underway ...

If you want to put a 1980's SP modeler like me in heaven, give me both SD40T-2s and SD45T-2s available in plastic with see-thru screens. It doesn't get much better for a second-generation SP diesel modeler than that.Tongue [:P]

Unfortunately NiteCrawler needs to upgrade his picture hosting account to get the photos to show.

If you right click on the image and select copy image location, then paste the URL in a new window, you can see the pictures, but what a pain ...

The workman ship is outstanding.

I'm glad it occurred to me last year to download and save nearly every single one of those Tunnel Motor photos into a folder in my computer.

I'd be willing to post them if someone told me how, step-by-step.

ok, do you have a free image hosting site? eg photobucket etc..? if so upload the photos, and copy the URL from the picture once it's uploaded, and type [img ] [ /img] without the spaces of course, and thats that!

James, where do I find the "free image or photobucket" hosting sites? Are there any costs involved?

Happilly, by the time they get them out, It'll likely have been long enough that I can talk my wife into letting me get one...

Maybe I'll do what the PNWR did to that one bloody nose SD45 and just slap WPRR decals over the SP paint.

I feel inspired to try this myself.  I will be doing a MoPac caboose this week, so I will try and get it all together for a similar spread.  I really like the idea of doing a step by step on this forum.  Kudos to you for pioneering the idea.

Thanks James!

I'll check out the Photobucket today and as soon as I'm able to I'll post NightCrawler's photos.  Hopefully soon I'll have a digital camera and will be able to post photos of my work as well.

Recently I got an Athearn S.P. SD45T-2 at a train show. was gonna take the motor out and put it in another locomotive. Wasn't to sure how to fix it up but seeing this, minus all but image, I'm inspired to go this route.
