1953 Ford Station Wagon
Posted by don7 on Monday, March 21, 2011 2:33 PM

A parcel was just delivered to me containing the new HO 1953 Ford Squire station wagons.

CMW certainly has it right with these little gems. The detail just keeps getting better with every release.

Now if they can just come to an agreement with Chrysler on licencing the 1956 Dodge cars hopefully will be next in line followed by their 1946 Chevy pickups and trucks.

Gee, I forgot that there is a 1953 Ford sedan delivery coming as well.

I have not heard of any 1956 Ford in HO. Who is the manufacturer/distributor?

I've yet to pick up the '53 Ford Wagon but would really like too as I'm a big fan of vintage Fords and CMW's models as of late. I've been collecting them since they first appeared on the hobby shop racks and though I miss the feel of metal models I like that they've finally gone away from opening hoods and they're modelling headlights significantly better then before. Now, if only they'd redo some of their previous models :)

Got the burgandy and green one a week ago and love them. Can't wait until the 41-46 Chevy trucks come out. I've heard May 1st as a release date for the Chevies.

Come on CMW, make a '41-'46 Chevy school bus!

Ditto on the Chevy trucks. Yes  Those will be "new" vehicles for the era that I'm modeling.  LOL!

Jonathan, I like that orange tabby of yours.  I still miss mine - even after nearly 19 years.

Well what have you been waiting for Tom???? Git yer butt down to the local shelter and "adopt" one of them there "furry little critters"!!! I had one for years, name was "Freddy Ray", all black and my "red neck" cat but when we moved out here in the middle of nowhere he went out on the road one day and committed suicide by "moron with pick up". A stray had already shown up here and made himself at home but the wife brought home a "kitten" for me out of pity I guess. I had them both fixed but more showed up anyhow and we made the mistake of putting out food for them. I guess they have a "network" or something because we now have about 2 dozen of them running around here. Most of them are fixed now but it seems there are always more that show up and we can't bring ourselves to ignore them.

But.............we have "no" moles or rodents of any kind around here and locusts and grasshoppers are "toys" for them besides being high protein "snacks" as well.

Get yourself another one Tom, you'll thank yourself and so will the little guy you bring home.

Sorry this isn't about "model railroading" but I don't think I've offended anyone..........

Remember: Dogs have masters, cats have "staff"!!

Mark,

I would LOVE to get another cat BUT...my wife (who loves cats) is allergic to them.  That was the reason I had to find him a new home. Sad  He was an orange tabby and went by the name "Aslan"; named after the golden lion in C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia series.

Speaking of adopting a cat: Due to a fire, the APL here in Cleveland is currently offering their cats for adoption for only $5 - spayed! Surprise (Normally, it's $45 to adopt - i.e. to cover the cost of the spaying.)  I think we'd get three if it weren't due to the allergy thing.

Anyhow...Enough OT stuff.  Back to the regular scheduled program...

So THAT'S what's delaying the '56 Dodge sedans, huh?  I've been waiting for maybe a year now for those to come out.  My favorite cousin had a black & maroon one, and I plan to paint a solid black one to match...if I ever get it.

Does the new regime at MoPar think that it is capable of jacking up the market for design royalties?

If I ever met a train I didn't like, I can't remember when it happened!

I just got a gray & a green one 'cause I has them both in 1:1 scale!!  Actually, the gray was a '52 and the green was a 53, with a '54 sedan in between, but they all had the '52 flathead V8 in them!!  Engine was great, but the bodys didnt last - they were only 6-8 years old!!  My '05 Escalade might be fancier, but I'd still like to have the old Fords again!!
