Hi,
I'm looking for a person(s) living in Massachusetts that would be interested in laying track & wiring a home layout. I have a disability and can't do this job.
It'll be a continuous loop, roughly 100 feet of track with 15 switches and a lift-up access bridge. Basic DCC operations (no signal lights, etc).
No benchwork or scenery work will be needed. Simply lay the cork roadbed, lay the track (Atlas Code 83 flextrack) and wire it all up. I will supply everything you'll need, including refreshments and tool if necessary. And I can pay someone for their time.
Please reply if you're interested or know anyone that might be.
Thank you,
-Ed

I pray every day I break even, Cause I can really use the money!
I started with nothing and still have most of it left!
Talk with a local hobby shop or train store. They will know who might be able to do it and if its someone you would want to do the work. They may not be as cheap as you would want but you probably won't have to do it over.
Also train a local club too. They will have some track layers with experience.

Hi Pete,
I'm in Salisbury. That's on the MA/NH state line near the ocean.

The local hobby shops aren't wheelchair accessible, so I emailed them all instead, but none replied. The closest accessible place is close to an hour away, but I'm going there soon anyway.
The local train club location also isn't accessible, so I really can't be a member (membership rules require active participation on the layout and club) and I thought they might not be too willing to help a non-member. But I guess it's worth a try.

Try the NMRA Hub division for recruits or membership. http://www.hubdiv.org/
There is the North Shore club. http://www.nsmrc.org/index.html
Pepperel siding club. http://www.psmrc.org/public/about/about.html
There are quite a few modelers in the MBRE. http://www.massbayrre.org/
There are others in your area and even into New Hampshire. Email the club with your wants and needs and I am sure you will either get volunteers or at least have to join the club for help. Our club has done some volunteer work for a few people here on the Cape. The recipients usually give a donation to the club butt is not asked to do it.
Good luck.
Thank you for the links.
