It's Friday everybody, I can't beleive nobody started it yet. So I'll start this off.

I recently got a new camera, finally can take some decent photos and videos. One of my first videos of my layout. (make sure you select the 720 HD version). Video

Excellent, Michael.  You have great lighting, a very credible backdrop for the scene, and nice engines to boot.

This is a model of an in town Kruger paper mill. It is on the club's layout and was scratch built by a member. The photo was taken by a friend.

This version of WPF is off to a good start.

Nothing new from me yet this week. I did get all but one siding "glued" down and then it will be on to ballasting.

Motley - very credible looking scene. One question. What is going on where the train comes out from under the bridge as most of the cars seem to sway to the right hand side? It looks neat because I have seen this happen on many short lines.

Selector - I have often wondered what a fresh fireman or engineer thought when they rolled one of those big beasts onto a wooden trestle.

Thanks, I appreciate the great feedback. The yard tracks actually curves to the left, and the yard lead goes under that bridge. The tracks in the foreground is the mainline that curves to the right.

Very nice Kruger plant... I suspect Trois-Rivière paper mill to be the prototype! ;-)

Yes it is,  Kruger founded us with $400.00 and gave us access to the plans, they were very cooperative.

Aaaaaahhhhhhh!  The Weekend!  And with it my favorite thread...

I have been doing a couple of things in the workshop area at the Engine house for the Quarry.  Added a workbench (easy scratchbuild):

This afternoon I put in some tools I painted up during the week.

Ready to make the final push to connect the west staging yard to the rest of the railroad.  Hardest part is fighting the urge to be impatient!

There's about 5' of track to go.  Read all about it on my blog.

We're off to a great start again this weekend! Thanks guys!

Good video Micheal. Nice layout too.

selector, as usual great photo.

Howmus, your interior detailing is really good. Way beyond my pitiful attempts.

I've been working on some exterior detailing this past week:

I livened up the team track on the BRVRR layout with a few figures and a loading task. Unfortunately, I'm running out of people.

Just a few new ties and a piece of rail for an upcoming maintenance project.

Keep up the good work guys. This is always the best thread of the week.

Remember its your railroad

That paper mill looks great - and not dilapidated - and refutes the idea that "everyone" weathers too much

I snapped a couple of progress pics of the town of Wells.  I need to figure out how to take better, in focus pictures with my cheap camera.  Some day I guess.  For now you get the general idea.

This one looks like an unfinished movie set.  I need LOTS of details and weathering to make it look right.  At least the kit is painted.

...

Selector - I have often wondered what a fresh fireman or engineer thought when they rolled one of those big beasts onto a wooden trestle.

I'm not sure it happened more than a very few timid times.  I don't have a good handle on how many timber trestles were kept into the 'super-steam' years with the heavier traffic and heavier damaging rolling forces such as dynamic augment, but I do know that the CPR had almost every original timber trestle replaced on their cross-country main by about 1900.  So, like so much about my layout, it is a fanciful picture.  Angel

Coulda happened....

I would have to judge that a mighty fine photo of a fine layout, Odie. Smile Thumbs Up

I was rummaging around in my old photo box and found this.

Just completed building and painting 12 ore hoppers from Tichy. Two days of "fordism"... Building one is fun... They aren't fitting the era, but I need some ore cars on the layout expansion. St. Urbain's iron mine is in a hurry... Anyway, it's not as if the real QRL&PCo wasn't running cars from the 1880's in the 1950's.

Just need to weather them a litte bit.

Now the FREMO-weekend in Unna is over. We had six op sessions with up to over 20 trains in a single session. Clock ratio 1:6.

Many special extra trains were fun. Here's one pic I made at Pit's module "Parlin curve".
