Evening diners!!...Coffee extra regular please in a NYC mug and a piece of that cherry pie should do it.
ROBBY..My deepest sympathies...keep your head up and stay strong my friend...the best things in life are yet to come!!!
RAY...No problems with not being there today for the show. We had a pretty good turnout for attendance and we made enough money for another years expenses plus some to play with (supplies and such).
Had a pretty decent day today at our club show...ran both our club layouts with multiple trains running all day and everything worked flawlessly. Didn't really buy much from the vendors as I actually curbed myself from buying stuff that I will not get to for awhile as my basement is still loaded with stuff from shows two years ago I haven't built. I did buy the Kalmbach book by Tony Koester on his AM layout that is no longer. I was looking for a modern coaling tower but I only found one in N scale. Oh well. That's about it for me today...Have a good night all!!...Tim
A true friend will not bail you out of jail...he will be sitting next to you saying "that was friggin awesome dude!" Tim...Modeling the NYC...is there any other?
Veggie plate, please.
***Robby, sorry to hear the news. Life sure can be quite challenging at times. We'll be keeping you in our thoughts.
Pulled the boards, bricks & fence posts off the spray foam experiment. A few real uneven spots were revealed. No match for a belt sander though. Once sanded smooth, set the track back down and ran trains. All went smooth, except for some reason the GS-4 only backs up over Kato #6 switches if done very slowly. I suppose that is how one "should" do it anyway. So, next up will be glueing track down. Progress!
Cheers! Rob

Evening Folks.
Flo, I will take a please, and I will pick up Rob's tap.
Robby P Sorry to hear about you and Jessica. I will all so miss your posting and photo's. Lack of funds is one of the biggest reason's married people break up. I know, been there and did that. I hope things work out the way you want.
Big Hook Wrecks are cleared and the trains are running again. 1 Athearn Coal Car hit the floor and lost it's coupler but other than that all was fine. If I move, I wonder how many couplers I will find after the garage is cleaned out?
Work Front While I did lose a $1200.00 deal (customer found bad feedback on the Manufacture on the web) it was still a solid weekend with $6875.00 so I am not crying over split milk. I have $41,000.00 in sales this month. If everything could be delivered I would have made $2870.00. Far cry from the $50,000.00 the ad said, but better than a stick in the eye.
Catch you all later.

Robby sorry to hear you guys are breaking up. Not sure what to say but keep in touch and we shall see what happens.
Attaboy, my divorce required a 180 day cooling off period. I was in Kuwait for 9 months so it only took a couple months to get the divorce, but no new marriage license for 180 days after the divorce. My ex who ran off with another guy while I was overseas was chomping at the bit.
Couldn't resist... Ray started it. He went first. I just followed him out in the yard to make sure he didn't trip. There's a couple loose spikes over there ya know. Hey! At least I stayed on topic. Sorta.
Robby- Good luck and be careful on the trip. Type at you in a few days.

I'm a small town boy. A product of two people from even smaller towns. I don’t talk on topic….. I just talk.
Well its been bad for us since about November. Its be even worse for the last few weeks. We both finally agreed to just part ways. I have no money, and I mean no money. Jessica is going to pay this months bills, and give me some. Now once I get to NC I will have to find something quick!!
I will be able to get back on here in a few days.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
You too Attaboy? Gee whiz. I also wish the best outcome for you.
IT"S EMPTY!!!!!! the apartment is FINALLY EMPTY!!!!!! My basement is full, but the aprtment is EMPTY!!! No more trips to town to haul the same stuff from one place to another. No more.....well, you get the idea.
Brenda's coloring her hair. This should be interesting.
Garry- Your Mother and you are still in my prayers. Two words....Life Line. Or whatever it's called there. Great thing for those who live alone regardless of their activity level. I've been subtley mentioning it to Ray also. ( so subtley he usually doesn't even respond )NOT because I think he's old, but because he is so active at home with no one around and we all know where most injuries happen. Especially when there are stairs involved. Your Mother sounds as if she is active also. My Mother had one and she said it made her feel more secure knowing there was someone just a punch of the button away. It's the cheapest insurance going and they don't have to remember a number or be within reach of a phone. I highly recomend it regardless of age.
Ray- Watched the thread a bit myself. I of course after having a few PM's from Jeff in the past and some sagely advice on occasion from oh, I don't know, you.... have decided to just sit back and enjoy the show and not take the bait.
Sometimes I wonder if it is bait. EVERYONE knows how the RTR vs kits threads end up regardless of how they are worded. (no smiley icon for the expression I gave, but you could do it in front of your Preacher)
Robby- I'm sorry to hear that. You never spoke of, or gave any hint of problems before so it's kind of a shock. I wish you the best and pray that whatever the outcome, it will be the best for both of you.
Welp, time to get ready to go to another Funeral visitation. This time it is for the lady across the road from where I grew up. (the house I'm trying to sell) She was like my third Mother to me so it is very sad. However, the bright side, if there is one, is she haad cancer and was suffering terribly. This actually comes as a blessing. Problem is, now I must face her three children again just seven weeks later in the same location. This time they are standing where I was. Gonna be tough. Mother number two is not getting around very well either so I'm fearing that. I hope it's a while off yet. She is not ailing, so I hope it's a while off.
Bad year for for loss so far. They say it comes in three's, but within the first two months?
Afternoon everyone, came home from work a bit ago, had a late lunch, showered, and just sat down to relax a bit and the wife walked in with an attitude. You all can't believe how happy I will be when she is out of this house. This 90 day waiting period PA has for a divorce is a royal pain.
Sorry about that, just had to blow off some steam before the safety valve exploded.
Won't be much going on here till everything is settled with the divorce. Have to save my cash for any contingency.
Talk to you later.
Afternoon All...Its cloudy and in low 40's here posta rain tonite..I'll have a diet Coke...please...Thank You...Today is our youngest daughters birthday..She is coming to eat with us..gonna be good to see her..
Jeff....can't wait to see some photos as you get started..
Robby..You will be in my thoughts and prayers and remeber we are all here if you need to talk..
You all have a good one...Jerry

Jeff- Glad you got the billboards. Hope they look good installed.
Well, nothing new from me. Just been working in a Lancaster country farmhouse kit.
Been thinking about installing a dixie horn on my Jeep Cherokee. This spring I am going to get it repainted and a lift kit. So what can be the trouble in installing it?

Well guys Jessica and I are calling it quits.
I'm moving out tomorrow and going to live with a friend in NC. I won't be on much anymore, but I want y'all to know you are great friends!!!!!
Hey RAY: I think I saw "THAT" soon-to-be locked discussion (RTR vs. kits, right?)...thought about tossing a grenade in there to really stir things up, then thought better of it.
I'll go sit quietly at the RC and try very, very, very hard to behave myself...
Mornin'.... uh....... Hmm.... Afternoon folks!
Zoe I'll have a Reuben Sandwich, a side order of fries, and a cup of decaf for lunch today.
I have been watching the latest soon to explode thread out there in the main forum, munching on some popcorn while sitting in a comefy chair... Barry, you know which one I'm talking about....
Barry sorry about the call! I'm glad I don't have to be someone dealing with other peoples issues!
Garry, I know what you are going through with Mom.... been there and done THAT! My Mom also could play the piano (quite well BTW) up to when she fell and broke her hip right before her 88th. birthday. She would almost always sit down at the piano and play "March of the Wooden Soldiers" as her first piece. Then think for a moment and play "March of the Wooden Soldiers".... Then she would think for a while longer and start to play "March of the Wooden Soldiers". After the intro she would suddenly stop, turn to us and say, "Did I already play this????" The day I took her to her new home in "Assisted Living", the poor thing was shaking like a leaf.... She was terrified. Sounds like your Mom is too. She soon adjusted to her new home and loved it. Within a year, she couldn't remember her home of 35 years built by my dad. This is a difficult time of life for the children, even when dementia isn't involved! My prayers for you folks!

Nothing much going on today. I'm still waiting on some supplies to come. Once I have it I'll be starting in on the layout work. First doing the area along the track with blended turf then ballasting the track and using some turf to blend the ballast in. It'll be slow work but it will get done. Each area can be detailed after the base work is done and I'll move on to the next area.
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood *yawn* Mornin', somebody here was talkin' 'bout coffee...smelling coffee, expecting coffee, seeing coffee, being in trouble for something not related to coffee.... Guess I'll have a bucket of coffee.
ROBBY P: Nice job as always on the ACFX CenterFlo. I used to see several like THAT on a daily basis. They were the Pressurade variety though with piping underneath. I think In-AccurateRail forgot THAT.... You captured the "look" just right though Your gray ACF in the WPF looked good too! I won't be needing any roof shots. I just need to figure out what to do with the handful of "wrong" hopper cars...
CUDAKEN: I think ROBBY P is right, the large hole on the ends of the CenterFlo is so guys can access the brake equipment and do other repair stuff.
BARRY: Sorry to have caused toil and turmoil in your world... but 'tis true, a little "knowledge" can be a dangerous thing! I'm just glad to hear I'm not the only guy in here afflicted! As for the website, I think I've got over 100 pages (and counting!) out of various magazines saved, waiting for printing-out, three-hole punching, and deployment into the appropriate three-ring binder. I'm gonna make the printer ink people very happy someday... I've got more research information now than ever. I'm learning more about the stuff I've been looking at for 20+ years. Of course, if I'd had the bucks to BUY these magazines back in '88, '92, '93...
Is it too early for or ????
Here's a shot for ROBBY P, just the way he likes 'em....NASTY!
Have a good, safe day everybody....
Ken...........I believe the hole for the welders to patch spots in the hopper (seams). Were the center flow hoppers have several seams, while the other cars only have three main seams (for grain, sand, etc...). I guess you can also tell by the roof of the cars (hatches). Smaller hatches more seams, bigger hatches, less seams.
Good morning
Glad to see each one of you here. Especially good to read about and see pictures of model railroad progress,
My layout remains idle, and I still am in Alabama. It's quite an emotional situation helping our 91-year-old Mom in AL. To be sure, I'm glad the Lord blessed Mom with so many birthdays, but she needs much help and generally does not want the help she needs. ... Remarkable, she still is very good at playing the piano, and we took her to the Alabama Symphany Orchestra last evening.... Also, on the plus side, I have worked with her to save tons of money that would certainly have been wasted. A big negative, however, is she still will not agree to move to assisted living. She's vulnerable to very expensive scams in addition to just wasting money on stupid things as long as she is by herself in her own place. We worry also that she could have a medical emergency while alone..... I have business at home, and I'll be back there very soon. ... New grand daughter in MI is fine.
Take care everybody, and keep posting your model railroad progress.

Flo, Big Diet Dew Please.
Getting ready to head to work here in a hour. To bad the store does not open at 9:30 and close at 3:30. I hate hanging around the house waiting to go to work.
Simon when you get back, I hopping you can drop by. Like to try a new end on the DT 400, might be the problem with it.
Robby P I have a question for you. Why do covered hoppers have the holes on each end? Good looking car i will add.
Train Front Need to get the big hook out, and maybe a dust pan. Had a Monon Freight Train rear end a UP Coal Train last night. Coal cars derailed on to the B line where a NYC Freight Train ran into them. Not pretty. Heard something hit the floor, hope it was a coal car and not the NYC F 7 A. Of course it happened in the 13 foot long tunnel.
See you all after work.
Good morning,
A few progress pictures to share…
Early morning crew spots empties at the Soule Grain Company with a brand new 70 ton switcher. Once filled these cars will head to the Port of Toledo, then returned to their respective owners. Can’t make money hauling empty cars…

Suydam-California Models-Alpine Kits under construction.
These will be used in the coal mine (loading) facility module. I used magnetic welding holders to hold the walls at a right angle and the roof sections at a 30 degree angle. I picked these up from Harbor Freight Tools http://www.harborfreight.com/welding/welding-accessories/4-piece-magnetic-welding-holders-93898.html . These clamps work well in holding styrene kits together if you have a small section of sheet metal on your bench or you buy the large magnetic welding holders and use them opposite of each other.

Robby-
Welp, today I need to get a couple more truckloads back here. One of which should be the couple three pieces of furniture she wanted. Naturally….., it’s supposed to rain. Always something to just make this process draaaaag on forever. Why wasn’t the furniture brought home earlier you ask? Well, because she wasn’t ready for them yet. That's why. So, we drug aaaaall that junk home by the truckloads, (still at least one left) before the good furniture, and now….and NOW…., with the basement full of kerrrrrrAP, with the rain a comin’, she wants the furniture home because. Tuesday is the first and she’d like the apartment cleaned by the first so maybe they will forgive us the month of March.
Somehow I feel I will be in trouble foooor.. .. something. For what I have no idea, nor do I know what ingenious way she is going to twist it to be my fault (though I would be a bit curious. There have been some doozies over the years), I just have this all too familiar feeling. Kinda like when you wake up in the morning and you smell coffee. And you just know there’ll be coffee….cause you smell it. Then you walk into the kitchen and there it is…coffee. That feeling. And I smell trouble with a capital "T"....... And that rhymes with "P" and THAT my friends......., rhymes with Pool.
Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!
Good morning. No snow but a lot of rain is coming.
Got some pictures of the hopper outside yestedray. It turned out real good. The next project is a very rusted boxcar. I found a nice photo to go by. Todays plan. Clean the house some, and todays Jessicas grandmas birthday. Go over for some pizza and cake.
Chris......I have some roof shots, but I don't know if the will help you. I got them for the rust look.
Here's my latest car.
Well...Good Morning, I guess...
