RR suspended from ceiling
Posted by DocDan on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 3:51 PM
I finally go the go-ahead from my wife to install a suspended rr in the nursery (before the new resident moves in).

I have an HO layout in the basement but that's mine. So, any reason to choose O versus G for this nursery? Also, are there any resources that can show me how to do this myself. I've found some vendors of suspended systems but found these to be prohibitively expensive. I'd like to do this the right way and it HAS to look good.

Any advice or direction swould be greatly appreciated.

Dan

I recall reading an article in MR about hanging a layout from the ceiling. I think it was August 1986, but I'm not sure. Check the MR database.

There is many ways to suspend things!I have hung alot of sound systems in my time and aircraft/guide wire cable is the cheapest and strongest way to do it without brackets.U can get it from 1/8"-->????? Its east to install and is easy to cut off with bolt cutters. Its paintable,You can get it with a plastic coating on it or bare wire.Check out the hardware stores they always have the stuff.Or i can give u a parts list to go off of if u want to email me
