Thank-you for the reply,Fergmiester. What I am referring to is the Proto 2000 Dominion Atlantic S3 Locomotive.I have the 6561 but need the 6560.Also have a True Line Dominion Atlantic caboose on its way to myself.

I believe the Dominion Atlantic RDC was a Proto 1000 issue. If I could find one I would not mind having one of those as well.SmileI remember seeing them running as a boy.We always called them," Dayliners".

Yes the Dayliners are Proto 1000. I have four two are fully DCC (one with Sound) and the others are in various stages of being converted to full DCC Sound. I also lit the inside cabin (back half of the car) and it looks very nice with passengers.

Sounds like you have a nice fleet of Dominion Atlantic Dayliners.Do you have a special layout for them?

Where did you purchase the Dominion Atlantic Dayliners at and how long ago?

DAR

I picked them up at Maritime Hobbies and Crafts. Haven't seen any in ages though as I look from time to time. They do have the DAR Cabooses. Realizing the they aren't protoypical.

Good luck on your continued quest! Can't say I've seen any around so won't be of any help to you.

Interestingly though, in the time since this original thread we've made a huge leap forward in regards to the RDC/dayliners, which were discussed a bit up above. Rapido's upcoming model will be the definitive offering of those models - and they are releasing DAR 9058 and 9059 (with the maroon and yellow stripes) in their first run of Phase 2 RDC-1s, arriving at the end of February. There has never been an even remotely comparable HO RDC model produced, so even if you already have the Proto 1000 DAR RDCs, these would definitely be worth a look as a replacement.

Have you considered buying a different road's S3, stripping the paint and re-decorating it yourself, or maybe finding someone to do it for you?

It's not a particularly elaborate paint scheme.  This decal company has the lettering in stock:

There are no elaborate logos or non-standard fonts, either, so you could even make up your decals.

Thank-you all for the comments.Enjoyable to read.

Cannot say that I have considered having another loco  repainted  to Dominion Atlantic.Kind of have my mind set on the mate to my Proto 2000 Dominion Atlantic 6561.

Found one on Kijji today, but the picture was poor.Could not make out the loco number.Sent a PM,now waiting for a reply.

Just wondering, if any other company besides Proto 2000 made a Dominion Atlantic S-3?

Interesting that some new Dominion Atlantic Dayliners will be coming to market in February.

Since you already have one, I would think that getting another P2K S3 and replicating the paint job would allow you to get a very good color match.  That decal set would be a good investment right now, since it's only $8, and you never know when the seller might go out of business or run out of those decals.

Walthers might be able to tell you what paint or mixture of paints they used for the model, too.

Well no word back from the person who had the Dominion Atlantic diesel.I assume it was not the number I needed or that it has been sold.

 Seems my quest goes on.:)
