Well I have had this Bachmann On30, Terry Redlin train from Collectibles Today for a while now. The train was part of a subscription set that ended before the last 2 cars shipped. I guess there was a problem with the artist and the company so he pulled his sponsorship. This is the first year my wife and I have had a X-mas tree to put it under, and I thought I would share it with you. Every year since I have had the train we have run it at X-mas but just on a loop of track on the floor. Last year I made this loop of track with a siding for my son and gave it to him with some trains for X-mas. This year he let me use his "layout" for the X-mas tree. Enjoy the pics and comments are always welcome.
Do any of you guys out there have dedicated X-mas trains you put under your tree?

That looks like the perfect Christmas tree decoration to me!
Here's mine - it's a bit smaller than yours (N scale):
Bought it last Christmas, just after I moved in with my girlfriend. Next year it'll be mounted on a 2x4 with a Christmas village, designed to go around the tree.

It is a nice custom, to put a train and a Christmas village under the tree.
Here in Germany, we don´t do this, so there are no Christmas Special Trains
WE have a small layout with a circle of HO an two ovals of N scale under the table top tree.
We had a board cut to place on the table which we can glue down the track to make permenant the layout and reuse every year. By next year the new board {bigger than the old one} will be white with snow crystals and drifts and mounds {woodland scenics} and balasted to perfection. I hope we get that all done this summer!
WE run no special trains, we just run what we got for christmas that year!
Or what we already have that we like to run.
This year I think SAnta got me some new locos! {I know he did...which ones remain a mystery for a week} ANd a few new cars!
