Mine is what it is. I hope to do better next time. I see that some of you have very nice ones, whether hand-painted or hand-pasted. It's all part of the modeling process.
Please play along and post whatcha got.

Post what ya got eh? Well mine is more of a progress report. I am lucky that I know many very good artist. In fact one had her own gallery for years. I am sure one of them will come through when the painted expansion of my foam mountains is required. I personally have trouble drawing stick men, so that shows the hurtle I face. Anyway, here is what can be accomplished if one keeps plugging away.
The longest journey begins with a single step. I lost count a long time ago.

Jeff,
I like your backdrop and it would work great for my logging railroad. Can you share a little information about it?

Thanks Jeff,

There are some very nice looking backdrops being presented here. This should have been one of the first things I put up but it's looking as if it will be one of the last ---not the way to do it.

Excuse me, Neil, Andy, Cody, David.....Why hasn't this layout graced the pages of Model Railroader yet?

Very impressive, fellas. Very nice. Please continue, and jump in those who are sitting on the fence. It's all good in this fraternity.
Holy Cow! Some of these scenes are so realistic I can smell the coal and diesel fuel.
Great work.
a beautiful sky!
Really great photos from everyone! My layout is "around the wall" and accordingly, my tracks often are too close to the wall. I work with Faller backdrops, and I add either collages or sometimes I paint scenes myself.

Really nice work!
I'm not new to the hobby but am new to making anything.... What I mean is, I've been collecting for years (15+ yrs) and have build a couple of model buildings only along that time span. I love the hobby, got money for it but lack time & space; two essential eliments.
Nonetheless, my addiction to the hobby continues to grow over the years. So far this month alone I have placed three online orders with Walthers! Can't help myself I know I got issues (lol).
However, this hobby really seems to provide me with joy and I love receiving and collecting items because I know that one day, I will have time and space. I got about 5.5 years left in the military & I plan on taking a few models on my next tour downrange to the sandbox. Next deployment scheduled for mid 2011 so I decided to purchased a 47" (L) X 14" (W) shefl for my first short term project. I'm really looking forward to starting this project soon and will come here as many of us do from time to time for your excellent suggestions and helpful tips.
Thanks to all for sharing the awesome pics & experience, hopefully I'll be able to share some pics of my completed project pics prior to deployment.
JGphins - out!
Unfortunately, mine looks a lot like an unfinished concrete wall.....
But it's on my to-do list.
Thanks, everyone for the great inspirational photos!

Ray,
You did a really good job at recreating the large billowy clouds of NY Finger Lakes region. They look like tha late morning / mid day clouds I've seen while passing through there.
