Does anyone know if the Annual Christmas Train starter sets are making the rounds at Real Cdn Super Store (Lablaws) - had a friend asking about starter kits for his grandson

Haven't been to our only "nearby" box store, Wal-Mart lately to see if train sets were in. There are a number of sets at the LHS. Like any other aspect of model rring you get what you pay for. There are good, better and best sets. An alternative to purchasing a set is to purchase a track pack, which may include a couple of switches. Then purchase a better quality power pack, loco and rolling stock. It may cost a little more, but you can choose more specific items
