I've been working on my town of West Chester since the start of MR season. It won't be photo ready for at least a couple weeks but here is one from the town of Bedford Falls that I did last spring.
No fancy pictures for me, getting the double crossover ready for installation. Just need to gap, and paint, and wire up some feeders, and.....
I'm trying to model 1956, not live in it.
Really nice photo of your Calais Yard, Mike. To me, your yard shots always convey that dirty, "nasty-looking", appearance of the trackage, dirt and the spills of God knows what, that one always sees around actual RR yards (at least in the pre OSHA/EPA days) and that is so often either missing completely, or incorrectly rendered, on most modelers' layouts.

mikelhh Thankyou Don. One more, if I may... The new river I've been making, using two-part epoxy resin and all sorts of homemade ground scatters including rocks hammered to size, crushed shellgrit, sand, tea leaves and twigs. Mike

Wow. Mike. Now I like that one. That is a very, very realistic and natural looking river!

more progress on my decapod. Still have to do some more final detail painting on the front running boards and other small parts. Probably will start to paint the round number board tomorrow and start decaling. Dullcoat after decals then start weathering.

Mike,
Very nice photo! I like the angle of the shot and the lighting is just as good!

Research; it's not just for geeks.
Great work everyone. Love the fog, Grampys!

Tom, I think you have a very satisfying shot there. It is fleshed out quite nicely, and has good light, and the angle is very good, I agree. I notice that the fella at the switch stand is looking over to see how the two crews are getting along. Nice touch in a nice image!

Tom Bryant_MR Fantastic, fantasic photos everyone. The hills still have the morning haze in Spoon Yard as two engineers fire up and say "Wanna race to see who gets out of here first".

Tom,
If I didn't know better, I'd say you posted this closeup knowing those wavy yard tracks would catch my attention.... Great angle for the photo!
I have been working on a diorma for the RPM meet being held in Wichita on the 6th & 7th of November. I still have a ways to go but I think it is coming along nicely. I will be adding a seperate backdrop to the diorama so equipment can be placed on it and photographed.

MAbruce Motley: Bruce, that is killer looking sunset photo, please tell us more about it? Thanks. The details behind the picture will probably be a disappointment. The original photo was taken under normal lighting. I noticed that my lighting source (above) was illuminating the shot from slightly behind, making it a good candidate for a sunset scene. I used my photo editing software to darken the shot and add in sunset (from another picture) as a backdrop. I then shifted the picture tint to a light orange to give it the illusion of reflecting the colors of the sunset. So in a nutshell I can take credit for the modeling, but the rest is special effects.

I hate Rust
Just a pic of my underconstruction 2'X4' Z scale layout.Layout is only worked on between trainshows.
This is from the latest show last Sunday in Holland.MI.
Crandell..........That's one of the cars that I will be selling at the Greenberg Train Show. Now I hope they sell, and I have enough cars. I'm worried that they won't sell or they will all be gone on the first day, and day two I have nothing to sell.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
No one can say you fool around with toy trains when you show them that, Robby. It's like saying Van Gogh fooled around with paints.
How about I add a "rust" bucket.

Crandell, I agree wholeheartedly. We have been seeing some truly great work in here recently.
I have been trying to finish the module I am making for the Civil Engineer Certificate (Hand Laid Track requirement). Earlier this week I finished the 3 turnouts I needed (One is a siding, and two are part of a crossover track). By tonight all the track should be glued down and properly gauged.

We'll get there sooner or later!
I tell you, WPF is reaching some dizzy heights these days....I need a Gravol!!!
As I have nothing new, this is one of my favourite images, second only to one with a J Class that I took last year. I show a Pennsy J1 causing the girder bridge to creak under its weight as the mighty engine crosses the Seneca River. Below, looking up in astonishment and wonder, are some canoeists.
Holy moly batman, amazing shots by everybody so far!!!!
