Ya know, I hate to do this cause it will keep this thing alive, but is anyone aware that UP donated 240K $ to various charities, programs and other things in Northern Calif?
It was mentioned in the Trains.com update a week ago.

It was always gray. It's nice that they donated to charities but not nice what they're doing to Amtrak and it's not nice what they're trying to do to the model-railroad industry.

I'm not trying to say that UP is Evil Incarnate and I don't think anyone here is trying to say that. I am dismayed by the folks who seem to think that UP is Good Incarnate and that they can do no wrong--it is disturbing to see people think in such black & white terms.

So, sure, it's nice they made a donation, but that doesn't excuse their bad behavior in other areas.
