Finally getting some of my RIP project back on the rails. Next are 2 RTR Athearn's that I need some numbers on.
I need drive shafts for a RTR SD 50, I bought the engine about 3 years ago. On the Athearn site only drive shafts I found where for a SD40-2 # 48060 or a C44-9 / AC 4400 # 49060.
All so looking for the grab irons for the front of a RTR Athearn UP Dash 9 with flag.
I have gone to HO Seeker and did not find the engines listed in the drop down box. Is there a more advanced search there I could try?
Thanks for the coming help, and if any of you have the parts I am looking for please let me know.

The AC4400/C44-9W have about the same wheelbase as the SD50, so they use the same length of universal.
I was going to recommend A Line or some other detail parts manufacturer for the grab irons, but then I remembered something interesting about my SD75M. I don't know if Athearn still does this, but the grab irons on my SD75 have angled mounting points instead of straight ones (kind of like Kato does), so you may have to call Athearn to get what you need.

Thanks for the only so far answer Brandon. Far as the grab irons, the engine got dropped by a friend. Will see what I can find of the remains.
By the way, the other project is getting closer to being sent.
Your friend Ken
Hi Ken,
Brandon is correct, the holes and grabs are bent so they slip in staight. This leaves the grab irons bent on an angle. The Kato plastic ones are also. I take a #79 drill and drill vertically through the holes. Then I can use the grabs of my choice. A little gap filling CA from the inside will close the hole around the grab and no one will be the wiser.
I have some of the Athearn #49060 wishbones for an AC4400. If you're interested, let me know.
Cheers, Mike
Hi Mike, thanks for the answer, now for question. Would you by chances have the Kato part numbers if they will fit? I am pretty bad with part numbers. And to be honest I only know the engine by Dash 9, I don't know the real name of the engine.
I need to pull the wreck and see what all is missing. Had the engine sitting on a 1 tall box waiting for repairs. It got knocked off and fell the foot to the floor, cab came off and there no irons left on it. This was 2 years ago so I don't remember what if anything was left on the chassis.
On the wishbone, you mean where the drive shaft hooks to the worm gear? If so I am fine.
Thanks for the answer Mike.
The part number for the Kato universal is 967010, which is listed as in stock on their website. The Athearn universal design is based off of Katos, and when I was trying some parts swapping on a Genesis unit once, the Kato parts fit perfectly.
Thank you Braden, the wreck is sitting on my desk. If I can get it running well with the NCE D15SR decoder then the grab irons. Shell is still in good shape, all the railing is gone that was in front of the cab.
