Parts for Old Kato HO engines.
Posted by rs3bob on Thursday, July 29, 2010 5:04 PM

I have recently obtained an old HO Kato GP-35. This was made prior to any accomodation for DCC. Runs like a brand new engine. The previous owner modified it some and I need to put it back to correct. How do I get a parts list/instruction sheet with expanded isometric drawing? Does anyone know if Kato still supplies parts for these old engines? If not, is there anyplace to get them?

Any help is appreciated.

Kato still makes parts for their full HO line. You should be able to find what you need (or most of what you need) at their website: http://katousa.com/parts-catalog/information.html

I don't know where you can get instructions, so here are a couple pictures of mine:

Looks like Kato's exploded part drawing don't actually have any part numbers listed, just a description.  If you can read the drawings that were posted above, here are links to the 3 pages of GP35 drawings on the HOSEEKER website:

Thank you for your help.

Stupid question, the two things I needed most, the headlight lens, front and headlight lens rear and the handrail sets, are either not listed or sold out.

Does Sold Out mean never to be available? What about the lens' that are not mentioned?

The answers may be beyond your knowledge. I appreciate the lists. How does one get to the lists on ones own? I have other engines and they may need parts in the future.

Thanks again for your help.

To jrbernier, darth sante fe and maxman thank you.

I had gone to the site and did not understand how to use it. I went back and all the lists are there. The lenses are included in the glass set. I will keep checking back for handrail sets.

Thank you so much for your help.
