Zane Grey, Mikesaw, I'd use primer grey, or you could use the stealth grey CSX used, either way people would associate the color, and hate it. Remember, Conrail # 6610 was originally painted black with standard current Conrail styling, when received by The Conrail. So, I give you three paint-jobs, and two cab-styles, plus you could build NS and CSX yellow nose two, or even three, how good can it get? Just remember, modelers, I wish to see action, in-progress, or layout pictures, and so. For some reason, I'm not getting the "watched topics" prompts, though I check back three ways, when I do, and the search feature link is cool, first I've heard, and by the way, Hope Everyone Enjoyed the Seatle, convention! I used to see a lot in all of NY, PA, and NJ but after the CR split all but one were scrapped, that is in a quarry and it isn't in ballast express (it used to be but its lettered for the quarry) in Georgia. The engines were scrapped in eastern PA and there are parts of them left but the scrapper does not let railfans into the place.

Allen, You lived in Rome? I am from Rome! Hot Dog, someone from my area! You must have railfanned the North Georgia Divison as well. Good to find someone else who knows my area....

There is two issue's on C32-8's I know of, one on C32-8's themselves, and another on building C32-8's, the second article isn't that great and the finished engine doesn't look much like a C32-8 but it was good for it's time. You'll have to wait a few days for me to find the issue's because I'm going away for a few days. [:)]

If there has been an effort, it would only show pics of a finished model, so use the previous Diesel-electric locomotive kitbash projects as a tutorial. This is classified by NMRA as a kitbash. The carbodies are in white plastic, so they are photographical subjects. Just use a white backdrop, and add a few objects. If you find a fast fix, draw it. Drawings pay, as do pics. Just find a photo, and go for it. But one thing, please do not use dulcoat, as GE did not, let the locomotive shine, it'll weather on it's own! The truck sideframes are of a concern, that's a particular. The last photo I saw was an Overland import, a local with an SD45, awaiting an Amtrack movement in MR. Tair his *** out of the frame with a plastic hot dog replica, that you could carry to a session, and talk about!. ACJ.

Speaking on the C39-8 thats on my to-do list (in both CR and NS).

Well, looks like the C 32-8 became a relic of a previous age! And...so...we, get older. People used to talk of things such as, Geeps, F's,,,& so on. But-anyway, The Conrail C 32-8 had a three chime horn on the left side of the cab, at the rear; no low nose light, and originally came with class lights. Talk about a "techno-toaster!" I can belive the NS units became history soon after the merge. The round roof of the cab, was of the C39-8 units, however, the thirty-nine hundred horsepower just weren't about. I don't know, but to think that even though they had one-hundred fifty HP more than the U30C, and the C30-8 they were probably slow loading critters. I haven't figured the milage and years out, but they were also due and overhaul. That'll get a high horsepower unit, and...so. This introduced myself to The Conrail blue paint scheme, and went well with either NS or CSX, for pooled power, at least until the merger. And the intricate numbering systems, were a bomb. And...so... I won't forget the times I spent checking out the venerable Conrail C32-8, and, my interest in a road switcher for all puposes. Enjoy modeling the C32-8, and keep us posted. Yes, the B32-8 demo engines, were BN, and had the round-roof cabs. And, Dougal asked what roads I model. The reason I modeled the C32-8, is because the locomotive has a V12FDL engine, like the GP59. I model Diesel-electric locomotives, as a life-long hobbiest of the Diesel engine. I hope some manufacturer, produces the Norfolk Southern Dash 8-32B, which would use a D'8-40B carbody, with six tall doors, instead of eight, and a U Boat four axle chassis wheelbase. Maybe' LifeLike will producethe GP59. Enjoy a V-12 today! acj.
